Provided is a refrigerator having only a second door opened/closed or having both of a first door and a second door opened/closed using one handing by allowing a latch device to fix the second door to the first door or release the second door from being fixed to the first door. The refrigerator includes a main body having a storage compartment, a first door that is rotatably disposed in front of the main body and has an opening formed therein, a second door that is rotatably disposed in front of the first door to open/close the opening, a handle coupled to a front side of the second door to open/close the first door and the second door, and a latch device allowing the second door to be fixed and released to/from the first door.

Refrigerator

A refrigerator having a drawer to be pushed into or pulled out of a storage compartment. An ice-making unit is integrally mounted in the drawer so as to be pushed into or pulled out of the drawer through an opening perforated in a front wall of the drawer, resulting in improved use convenience and space utilization.

A refrigerator, and more particularly, a refrigerator equipped with a machinery chamber door, which is provided to open or close a machinery chamber formed at an upper portion of a body of the refrigerator. The refrigerator includes a body with a storage chamber, and with a machinery chamber provided at an upper portion of the body such that the machinery chamber is partitioned from the storage chamber, an opening portion provided at one side of the machinery chamber, a machinery chamber door hingably coupled to the opening portion such that the machinery chamber door can be rotated up and down to open or close the machinery chamber, a recess member provided to the machinery chamber door and defined with a recess, and an insertion member inserted into the recess and fixed to the body.

A cabinet for recessed refrigerators, which has an integrated single inner casing. The cabinet has an outer casing to define an appearance of the cabinet, the outer casing being a box-shaped body open at the front thereof, and an integrated single inner casing installed in the outer casing, with a predetermined space defined between the inner and outer casings. The integrated single inner casing defines therein at least two storage compartments open at the fronts thereof, with a partition wall formed between the at least two storage compartments to maintain a predetermined gap between the storage compartments. The cabinet has an improved appearance and a stable structure, in addition to reducing the number of elements thereof, and improving assembly efficiency.

Cabinet for recessed refrigerators

A refrigerator in which a machine room and an air cooling chamber having an evaporator, are placed at a top of a cabinet to maximize the storage capacity of lower sections of storage compartments. The refrigerator includes a cabinet defining a storage compartment therein. A top projection part is formed by projecting a rear portion of a top of the cabinet upward. The top projection part defines the air cooling chamber therein, such that the air cooling chamber extends upward from an upper portion of the storage compartment. The machine room is defined on the top of the cabinet at a position in front of the top projection part, and receives a compressor and a condenser therein.

An ice maker is capable of efficiently making and removing ice cubes. The ice maker includes first and second pulleys which are installed to be spaced apart from each other. A drive unit rotates the first and second pulleys. An ice making conveyor is wrapped around the first and second pulleys, and has a plurality of ice making parts which are concavely formed to contain water therein. An ice storage tray is provided under the ice making conveyor to store ice cubes dropping from the ice making parts. An ice level sensing unit functions to sense a level of the ice cubes stored in the ice storage tray, thus shutting off electricity. When the level of the ice cubes stored in the ice storage tray exceeds a predetermined level, an operation of the ice maker is stopped, thus preventing an excessive number of ice cubes from being stored in the ice storage tray.

Ice maker

An ice maker capable of efficiently making and removing ice cubes. The ice maker includes first and second pulleys, a drive unit, an ice making conveyor, heat/light generating units, and a reflecting member. The first and second pulleys are spaced apart from each other. The drive unit rotates the first and second pulleys. The ice making conveyor is wrapped around the first and second pulleys, and has a plurality of ice making parts which are concavely formed to contain water therein. The heat/light generating units are located in an interior of the ice making conveyor. The reflecting member covers upper and side portions of the heat/light generating units to downwardly reflect and guide heat and the light generated from the heat/light generating units. The ice maker is provided with the heat/light generating units and the reflecting member, thus allowing ice cubes to be efficiently removed from ice making parts located under the heat/light generating units, and minimizing the amount of energy transmitted to the ice making parts located above the heat/light generating units.
