There is provided a battery pack capable of improving the safety thereof. The battery pack includes a battery array, side plates, a top cover and end plates. The battery array includes a plurality of battery cells aligned in a first direction. The battery array is formed as a hexahedron having (1-1)th, (1-2)th, (2-1)th (2-2)th, (3-1)th and (3-2)th planes. The top cover is provided to the (1-1)th plane of the battery array, and has reinforcing frames respectively formed at both sides based on the first direction. The reinforcing frame includes vertical and horizontal frames. The end plates are provided to the (3-1)th and (3-2)th planes, respectively. The end plates are fixed to the top cover. A holding part pressing both sides of the top cover on the (1-1)th plane are provided to the side plates, respectively.

Battery pack

A battery module includes a plurality of adjoining of battery cells; heat conductive sheets between at least some adjacent battery cells, the heat conductive sheets being in thermal co-operation with the battery cells; a heat dispersion member coupled with the heat conductive sheets and in thermal co-operation therewith; and a heat dissipation member coupled with the heat dispersion member and in thermal co-operation therewith.

Battery module

A rechargeable battery includes an electrode assembly, a case, a cap assembly, and a current collecting plate. The electrode assembly includes an anode, a cathode, and a separator interposed between the anode and the cathode. The case houses the electrode assembly and has an opening and has a closed end. The cap assembly is coupled to the opening of the case, and is electrically connected to the electrode assembly. The current collecting plate is electrically connected to the anode or the cathode, and has a guide portion. The guide portion bends toward the electrode assembly to be in contact with the electrode assembly.

Rechargeable battery

A battery module includes at least one pair of first and second battery cells, each of the first and second battery cells including a first electrode terminal and a second electrode terminal and a first face including a first connecting portion, a terminal connecting member electrically connecting the first electrode terminal of the first battery cell and the second electrode terminal of the second battery cell, and a sensing member including a second connecting portion coupled with the first connecting portion. The first and second connecting portions are located on the first face and the terminal connecting member is in a pressure applying relationship with the first and second connecting portions. The first face may be provided by a cap plate, and the first and second electrode terminals are spaced apart at respective ends of the cap plate.

There is a provided a secondary battery capable of preventing unloading and rotating caused by possible vibration or shock by increasing a coupling force among the vent plate, the insulator, and the cap-down that compose the cap assembly of the secondary battery. To increase the coupling force among the vent plate, the insulator, and the cap-down, protrusions and corresponding grooves or holes, and grooves with step areas may be formed. Alternatively, a plurality of insulators may be formed in a divided form. A secondary battery with a reliable cap assembly can be implemented through such a structural change.

A battery pack includes at least one battery module comprising a plurality of unit cells stacked together; and at least one thermoelectric module on the at least one battery module, wherein the thermoelectric module may include a Peltier device having an input terminal configured to receive a polarity-convertible current.

A rechargeable battery according to the present invention includes an electrode assembly repeating charge and discharge with the movement of ions, a case containing the electrode assembly, and a supporting member surrounding the case and having a plurality of ribs on the outer surface thereof. Further, a battery module according to the present invention includes a plurality of rechargeable batteries, and a frame into which the rechargeable batteries are inserted. The rechargeable batteries include a case and a supporting member in contact with the case, and the supporting member includes a body surrounding the rechargeable battery and a rib protruding outwardly from the body.

A battery module having improved interconnection members to connect rechargeable batteries together and to minimize an increase in a volume of the battery module includes: first and second rechargeable batteries, each having an electrode assembly including a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator interposed therebetween, and a casing to contain the electrode assembly; a first interconnection member arranged on an upper side surface of the casing of the first rechargeable battery and electrically connected to the first electrode of the first rechargeable battery; and a second interconnection member arranged on a lower side surface of the casing of the second rechargeable battery and electrically connected to the second electrode of the second rechargeable battery, the second interconnection member being connected to the first interconnection member.
