An electronic device including an antenna is provided. The electronic device includes a first housing, a second housing for rotatably combining with the first housing, at least one hinge assembly configured to at least partially include an electric conductor portion, the at least one hinge assembly for rotatably coupling the second housing to the first housing, and at least one antenna device coupled to the at least one hinge assembly, in which the at least one antenna device includes a radiating conductor pattern and a ground patch, and the ground patch is electrically connected to the electric conductor portion of the at least one hinge assembly.

Disclosed is an antenna device for an electronic device including a first housing and a second housing rotatably coupled to the first housing about a hinge axis. The antenna device may include: a radiation conductor disposed in the first housing; and a reflection member disposed adjacent to the radiation conductor in the first housing. Radio waves transceived by the radiation conductor are radiated via the reflection member. Also disclosed is an electronic device including the antenna device. The antenna device and the electronic device including the same may be variously implemented according to embodiments.

A liquid crystal display apparatus includes a lower substrate, an upper substrate and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the lower substrate and the upper substrate. The lower substrate includes a display part for displaying image and a driving part for providing the display part with a driving signal. The upper substrate includes a common electrode and an insulating member that electrically insulates the common electrode from the driving part. The insulating member has a lower dielectric constant than the liquid crystal layer. Thus, a parasitic capacitance between the driving part and the common electrode is reduced to prevent malfunction of the driving part, and a display quality is enhanced.

Upper substrate and liquid crystal display device having the same

An array substrate includes a transparent substrate, an organic insulation layer, a pixel electrode, a reflective layer, a light blocking pattern and a switching part. The transparent substrate includes a reflective window that reflects an ambient light and a transmissive window that transmits an artificial light. The organic insulation layer disposed over the transparent substrate becomes thinner gradually at a boundary between the transmissive window and the reflective window. The pixel electrode is formed in the transmissive region. The reflective layer is disposed over the organic insulation layer of the reflective window. The light blocking pattern is disposed at the boundary between the transmissive and reflective windows to prevent a light leakage. The switching part is electrically connected to the pixel electrode to apply an image signal to the pixel electrode. Therefore, a light leakage occurring at boundary is prevented by the light blocking pattern.

Array substrate, method of manufacturing the same and liquid crystal display apparatus having the same

A display substrate includes a base substrate, an organic ridge pattern, a pixel electrode and a shielding electrode. A plurality of pixel regions arranged in a matrix shape are formed on the base substrate. The organic ridge pattern is protruded between adjacent pixel regions. The pixel electrode is in each of the pixel regions. The shielding electrode is disposed on the organic ridge pattern, and is electrically connected to the pixel electrode.

Display substrate, method of manufacturing the same and display device having the same

This invention provides a liquid crystal display device capable of allowing the color saturation of light reflected from a transflective type or a reflective type liquid crystal display device to be constant. In addition, According to the invention, the color filter is adjusted according to the distribution of the colors included in the light source such that the color saturation of images displayed in the reflective mode is constant. As a result, the images are clearly exhibited in the liquid crystal display device, and resolution of the color increases.

To improve reliability of a liquid crystal display apparatus using an upper substrate, the upper substrate to be combined with a lower substrate includes a transparent electrode and a first spacer. The lower substrate includes a display region and a driving region surrounding the display region to provide a drive signal to the display region. A liquid crystal layer is interposed between the upper substrate and the lower substrate. The first spacer is formed on the transparent electrode corresponding to the driving region to protect the driving region. The first spacer is disposed such that a rubbing having a rubbing direction of the upper substrate does not end at the first spacer. Thus, a corner white phenomenon that is caused by impurities stacked at a side portion of the first spacer may be reduced.

Spacer positioning to improve display quality in a liquid crystal display apparatus

An LCD apparatus includes first and second substrates, and a liquid crystal layer. The first substrate includes a main region having switching device and first electrodes, and a sub region having a second electrode. The switching device applies a data signal to the first electrodes in response to a gate signal applied to the second electrodes. The sub region is disposed at a circumference of the main region. The second substrate includes a third electrode that faces the first and second electrodes. A reference signal that has a different magnitude from the gate signal is applied to the third electrode. The liquid crystal layer is interposed between the first and second substrates. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a bright line surrounds main region through which images are displayed. Thus, the bright line brings out the images. That is, the images are better defined.

Liquid crystal display apparatus which transmits light at the circumference of the main image display region and method of manufacturing the same

An array substrate includes a transparent substrate, pixel electrodes, switching devices, a data line, a gate line and a light blocking pattern. The light blocking pattern corresponding to a storage electrode is disposed on the transparent substrate, and the light blocking pattern blocks a light leaked from a space between the pixel electrodes. The pixel electrodes are spaced apart from the light blocking pattern by a first distance. The data line is spaced apart from the light blocking pattern by a second distance, and the data line is disposed under a region between the pixel electrodes. The data line is electrically connected to the source electrode, and the data line has a first width. The gate line is electrically connected to the gate electrode to turn on/off the switching devices. Therefore, a black matrix is not required, thereby enhancing an aperture ratio.
