An electric motor for a blower and the like has a commutator and a brush assembly for making electrical contact with the commutator. The brush assembly includes a brush holder and a brush slidably mounted to the brush holder. The brush holder includes a brush holder plate and a side portion extending from the brush holder plate. The brush is arc-shaped and includes a first surface contacting the brush holder plate and a second surface contacting the side portion of the brush holder. The side portion of the brush holder has a number of ribs contacting the second surface of the brush.

Electric motor

An electric motor has a stator, a rotor and brush gear. The rotor includes a shaft, a rotor core fixed to the shaft, a commutator fixed to the shaft, and rotor windings wound on the rotor core and electrically connected to the commutator. The brush gear includes at least two arcuate brushes for making sliding contact with the commutator. The commutator and brush gear are disposed within a space formed in the rotor core to minimize the axial length of the motor.

An electric motor has a rotor, a stator and brushes. The rotor has a shaft, a rotor core fixed to the shaft and having a plurality of teeth, a commutator fixed to the shaft adjacent the rotor core and having a plurality of segments, and rotor winding units wound about the teeth and connected to the commutator segments. Each of the rotor winding units is connected to a pair of adjacent commutator segments. At least one of the rotor winding units has at least two coils connected in series. Each coil has at least two subcoils directly connected in series and separated from each other by at least one tooth. An initial subcoil and a final subcoil of each coil are respectively connected to a pair of segments.

An electric motor has a stator and a rotor magnetically coupled to the stator. The rotor has a shaft, a rotor core fixed to the shaft and having a plurality of teeth, a commutator fixed to the shaft adjacent the rotor core and having a plurality of segments, and rotor winding units wound about the teeth and connected to the segments. Brushes arranged in sliding electrical contact with the commutator transfer power to the rotor. Each of the rotor winding units has at least two subcoils directly connected in series to each other and separated from each other by at least one tooth. An initial subcoil and a final subcoil of each rotor winding unit are respectively directly connected to two adjacent segments.

A universal motor includes a stator and a rotor rotatably installed in the stator. The stator includes a stator core having a yoke, n primary poles with windings wound thereon and n auxiliary poles. The primary poles and auxiliary poles are alternately arranged on the radially inner side of the yoke in a circumferential direction thereof. When the windings are electrified, n primary magnetic poles and n auxiliary magnetic poles are formed at the primary poles and auxiliary poles respectively, n being an integer greater than 1. All the primary magnetic poles have the same polarity and the polarity of each auxiliary magnetic poles is opposite the polarity of the primary magnetic poles.

Universal motor with auxiliary magnetic poles

A motor has a stator and a rotor. The stator has 2P poles wherein P is an integer greater than one. The rotor has a shaft, a rotor core and a commutator fixed to the shaft. The commutator has m segments where m is an even integer greater than P. Every two adjacent segments are electrically connected by a winding unit so that the rotor winding comprises m winding units with at least one of the winding units comprising P coils connected in series; and each coil of each winding unit is directly connected to a corresponding two segments.

Motor

A motor has a stator having a stator core and field windings. The brush gear includes a plurality of brushes, a rotor including a shaft, a rotor core fixed to the shaft, a commutator fixed to the shaft adjacent the rotor core and rotor windings wound about teeth of the rotor core and connected to the commutator. The stator core has a yoke, 2P primary poles about which the field windings are wound, and 2P auxiliary poles. A control device controls the electrical connection of the field windings and the brushes so that 2P or 4P magnetic poles are selectively formed on the stator core when the field windings are electrified. P is an integer equal to or greater than 1.

A universal motor has a stator and a rotor. The stator has stator core and a stator winding. The stator core has a yoke with two ends and two equivalent salient poles formed at the ends of the yoke respectively. The stator winding is wound on the yoke.

A stator for an electric motor has a laminated stator coreformed from a plurality of stacked laminations, and a stator winding formed from a plurality of coilswound on bobbins. The stator corehas a plurality of teethwhich extend radially and alternately spaced between and connected to circumferentially extending yokes. The yokes and the teeth are separately formed with each yokebeing a stack of yoke laminationsand each toothbeing a stack of tooth laminations. The teethare inserted through the bobbinsand arranged in a cylindrical form with each toothextending radially. Yokesare then fixed between radially outer endsof adjacent teeth to complete the radially outer portion of the stator core. Each toothhas a radial location surfacewhich contacts an inner surface of the adjacent yokes. The yokesand teethare fixed together by welding the yokesto the outer endsof the teeth

Stator for an electric motor

An electric motor has a stator and a rotor. The stator has a housing with inlets and outlets. The rotor has a shaft, a rotor core and a commutator. A fan is fixed to the rotor. An end cap is fitted to the housing to close a first end of the housing and support electrical components, including brush gear. The brush gear includes two brush assemblies, each comprising a brush for making sliding electrical contact with the commutator and a brush guidance mechanism for resiliently urging the brush into contact with the commutator. The brush assemblies are accommodated in compartments of the end cap. Each compartment has vents on an axially facing side thereof and openings in a transverse wall thereof. An air guide guides a part of the airflow generated by the fan exiting from at least one of the outlets of the housing to flow into the compartments via the openings and exit the compartments via the vents to cool the brushes.

A servo motor, comprising a stator and a rotor disposed within the stator. The rotor has a core and magnets, covering the periphery of the core, forming a plurality of axially extending rotor poles. The rotor poles comprise a plurality of the magnets arranged axially, and the centers of adjacent magnets of a rotor pole are staggered by a mechanical angle in the circumferential direction of the rotor.
