In an embodiment, the present disclosure pertains to electric field generators that include a signal generator electrically connected to a power amplifier, a impedance matching circuit electrically connected to the power amplifier, and a power divider electrically connected to the impedance matching circuit and to at least one of a first wall, a second wall, a third wall, a fourth wall, or a base area. In an additional embodiment, the present disclosure pertains to method of determining radio frequency (RF)-induced heating on a medical device utilizing an electric field generator of the present disclosure. Additional embodiments of the present disclosure pertain to methods of making electric field generators for testing a medical device.

Multi-frequency high electric field systems for magnetic resonance imaging safety testing of medical devices

The present invention provides an external fixation device and method thereof. The device includes at least an insert for inserting into a patient's tissue such as a bone. The insert is fastened to a fastening assembly which comprises at least a RF heat source member during MRI scanning of the patient. At least a part of the RF heat source member's surface is covered with an absorption material to reduce the direct or indirect transfer of RF induced heat from the member to the insert. The absorption material has an electric conductivity greater than 10S/m.

A wireless power transfer system may provide coils that are respectively position on upper and lower ends of a pipe to allow power to be wirelessly transferred. Additionally, the system may also provide a soft ferrite layer placed on the upper and lower pipe sections to enhance the magnetic coupling so that the wireless power transfer efficiency can be maintained at a sufficient level when the coil separation is relatively large. Notably, this ferrite layer may span most or the entirely of the region between the coils to further enhance performance. In some cases, a ferrite core may be position between the coils and the pipe as well. In some cases, the pipe may include a tool section that may be non-conductive or results in a discontinuity in the ferrite layer. However, the setup of the system allows power to be wirelessly transferred despite such discontinuity.

A conductive multi-layer polymer catheter may be disposed around an outside of the insulating polymer jacket to reduce, or entirely eliminate, the conductive filer's exposure to electromagnetic radiation.

The present invention provides devices for screening the skin of an individual in real time using a region-fusion based segmentation with narrow band graph partitioning algorithm to analyze and classify a region of interest of the skin as benign or malignant. Also, provided is a method for screening the skin of an individual using the devices described herein. In addition the present invention provides a digital processor-implemented system for classifying a region of interest on the skin and a processor readable medium having processor-executable instructions to perform skin cancer detection.
