Systems, methods, and apparatuses for confidence mapping of shear wave measurements are disclosed. Confidence maps of shear wave image measurements may be generated from one or more confidence factors. Masking of graphical overlays of tissue stiffness values, based at least in part on the confidence map is disclosed. The confidence map and/or masked graphical overlays of tissue stiffness values may be superimposed on ultrasound images and provided on a display.

Systems, methods, and apparatuses for confidence mapping of shear wave imaging

An ultrasound probe is tested for failure of 5 elements of its array transducer by operating the probe with its lens in contact with the air. The echo signals produced during this mode of operation are beamformed into the usual set of scanlines produced by the probe. The frequency response of 10 each scanline is analyzed and compared with a reference signal of the frequency response of the corresponding scanline of a known good probe of the same type as the probe under test. If a comparison reveals a variance greater than a predetermined 15 deviation, the user is alerted that the probe should be replaced.

Ultrasound probe transducer testing

An ultrasonic diagnostic imaging system is used to acquire a fetal image in a sagittal view for the performance of a nuchal translucency measurement. After a fetal image has been acquired, a zoom box is positioned over the image, encompassing a region of interest. The size of the zoom box is automatically set for the user in correspondence with gestational age or crown rump length. The system automatically tracks the region of interest within the zoom box in the presence of fetal motion in an effort to maintain the region of interest within the zoom box despite movement by the fetus.

Automated ultrasonic measurement of nuchal fold translucency

The invention provides a method for generating a compound ultrasound image. The method includes acquiring and beamforming channel data. Using the beamformed channel data a plurality of images, each image comprising a plurality of pixels, of a region of interest are obtained and an image information metric, wherein the image metric is associated with a pixel of the plurality of pixels, is assessed. The acquiring of the plurality of images and the assessment of the image metric are performed in parallel. For each image of the plurality of images: a per-pixel weighting for each pixel of the plurality of pixels based on the assessment of the image information metric is determined and applied to each pixel of the plurality of pixels. Finally a compound ultrasound image is generated based on the plurality of weighted pixels of the plurality of images.

Methods and system for compound ultrasound image generation

Ultrasound systems and methods provide a workflow to automatically identify a fetal heartbeat. A region of interest (ROI) is identified in an ultrasound image and an ROI icon is positioned around or over a fetal pole and/or fetal heart. The ultrasound system produces spatially different M-mode lines associated with the ROI icon. The ultrasound system can identify a fetal heartbeat and estimate the fetal heart rate from echo signals received from echo signals associated with at least one of the spatially different M-mode lines. The echo signals for the M-mode lines can also be ranked according to the likely presence of a fetal heartbeat in the echo data.

Ultrasound systems and methods for automated fetal heartbeat identification

Ultrasound systems and methods provide a workflow to automatically identify a fetal heartbeat. A region of interest (ROI) is identified in an ultrasound image and an ROI is identified that contains the fetal heart. The ultrasound system produces spatially different M-mode lines associated with the ROI. The ultrasound system can identify a fetal heartbeat by tracking the changing position of the heart wall and estimate the fetal heart rate, e.g. by measuring from peak-to-peak of two subsequent waves. The echo signals for the M-mode lines can also be ranked according to the likely presence of a fetal heartbeat in the echo data.
