An autonomous device for measuring at least one characteristic of a fluid circulating in a conduit in a flow direction comprises a permanent magnetic field source, a magneto-electric converter and a processing circuit capable of using the electric charges supplied by the converter to supply a measurement of a characteristic of its environment. The source and the converter are placed in a stator and a rotor forming the device. The autonomous device further comprises attachment means allowing the stator to be fixedly placed in the conduit or at one end of the conduit, in a configuration in which the axis of rotation of the rotor is parallel to the flow direction. A control system may employ at least one such autonomous device.

A magneto-electric converter capable of converting a variation in magnetic field into a potential difference between two electrical terminals includes a support layer comprising two electrical terminals; a stack disposed on the support layer of a first layer made from a magnetostrictive material defining the reference plane and of a second layer made from a piezoelectric material having a polarization axis in the plane defined by the second layer, parallel to the reference plane; the second layer comprising electrodes; and a means for electrical connection of the electrodes to the electrical terminals.

Electricity generator comprising a magneto-electric converter and method of production

An electrical generator comprises a converter including two electrical terminals for converting a variation in a magnetic field into a potential difference between the terminals. The generator includes a stack of a first layer comprising an anisotropic magnetostrictive material defining a reference plane and a second layer comprising a piezoelectric material. The first layer has at least one preferential axis of deformation in the reference plane and the second layer has a polarization axis parallel to the reference plane, the preferential axis of deformation of the first layer being aligned to within 15&#xb0; with the polarization axis of the second layer. The generator includes a source that generates the magnetic field, the strength of which is insufficient to magnetically saturate the material of the first layer. The source and converter are able to rotate with respect to each other so as to vary the orientation of the magnetic field.

Method for measuring the intensity of a current in a conductor

The present invention relates to a magnetic actuation method according to which a magnetized mobile () is directed by means of at least one magnetic element () placed opposite said magnetized mobile, characterized in that the preferred direction (or easy axis) of magnetization is made to turn at every point of said element by applying at least one mechanical constraint to said magnetic element(s) (), causing anisotropy within said element and thus moving the magnetized mobile in a preferred linear direction or causing the same to rotate.

Magnetic actuation method

This magnetic actuator comprises a fixed magnetic part () cooperating magnetically with a mobile magnetic part () and means () for initiating movement of the mobile magnetic part (). The mobile magnetic part () comprises at least one magnet (-) and the fixed magnetic part () has at least two attraction zones (-) onto which the mobile magnetic part is able to come to attach itself. The mobile magnetic part () levitates when it is not attached to one of attraction zones (-), its movement being magnetically guided.

An actuator is described having two fixed magnetic structures, and a mobile magnetic part able to move towards either one of the two ends of the magnetic structures. The actuator can be in the form of a microactuator, and can be used in the fabrication of microrelays, microvalves, and micropumps.

Bistable magnetic actuator

Magnetic actuator having a closed magnetic circuit () capable of guiding a magnetic flux. The magnetic circuit () comprises a fixed magnetic part () with a yoke () and a mobile part (), magnetically connected to each other and also at least one main air gap () delimited by at least one portion () of the mobile part () and by the yoke (). In the main air gap (), the flux is closed by being set up approximately transverse to the mobile part (). The fixed part () also comprises flux recuperation means () that contribute with the mobile part () to delimiting an auxiliary air gap () in which the magnetic flux is set up laterally to the mobile part (). The flux is contained on each side of the main air gap (), on one side by the yoke (), and on the other side jointly by the mobile part () and the flux recuperation means () through the part () contributing to delimiting the main air gap (). The auxiliary air gap () has a dimension in the direction in which magnetic flux is set up that is minimum in at least one area of the portion () contributing to delimiting the main air gap ().
