A non-woven hydroentangled textile is described formed in cross-section with a central area of low mass fiber density surrounded on both sides by areas of higher mass density. Further, a personal cleansing article is described wherein the hydroentangled textile is associated with a personal cleansing composition that includes a lathering surfactant. The composition is deposited onto, impregnated into or at least is partially enclosed by the textile. Also described is a process for producing the textile involving feeding into a hydroentangling unit a loose random assembly of fibers both above and below a fibrous screen modifying textile substrate.

Hydroentangled textile and use in a personal cleansing implement

A substantially dry personal care cleansing article is provided which includes a water-insoluble substrate and associated with the substrate a personal care cleansing composition. The latter includes at least one lathering surfactant and at least about 2% of a cationic polymer. The composition has an average particle size ranging from about 75 to about 900 micron. The cationic polymer improves the rapidity and duration of foam formation when the article is wetted with water to activate the surfactant.

An oral product, particularly for anti-tartar use, is provided which includes from about 0.001 to about 20% of beads which include a zinc salt, the zinc salt having an average particle size ranging from about 0.01 to about 5 mm, and a dental base.

An anti-tartar oral product is provided which includes from about 0.001 to about 20% of beads which include a zinc salt and a gum held in a water matrix, the zinc salt and gum being present in a relative weight ratio from about 10,000:1 to about 10:1, and a dental base.

A dental product is provided packaged in a telescopically arranged multi-cavity dispensing container having at least two cylinders in an upper body thereof. Peroxide and baking soda are placed as active ingredients in separate respective semi-solid streams, each stream being in separate ones of the cylinders. Uniform dispensing of each stream to deliver relatively equivalent ribbon length of each stream by incorporating a synthetic linear anionic polycarboxylate to adjust viscosity. Preferred polycarboxylates are homopolymers of acrylic, methacrylic and maleic acids, most especially a copolymer of vinyl methyl ether and maleic acid or anhydride.

Dental product

An oral composition, particularly a gel, is provided which includes at least 2%, preferably 6% or higher of hydrogen peroxide in a carrier stabilized by a triphenylmethane dye. Particularly useful as the dye are FD&C Blue 1 and FD&C Green 3 at levels ranging from 0.006 to 1 %. Further stability can also be achieved through use of a chelating acid, particularly phosphoric acid.

The apparatus operates through a method that includes the steps of filling a package body with a molten cosmetic composition, solidifying the composition into stick form, heating a mold or package cap, elevating the stick to extend the package body opening, and contacting an end portion of the stick with the heated die or cap. A pattern such as a trademark or logo may be molded through this process onto the end portion of the stick.

Apparatus for forming a cosmetic stick

An apparatus and process is provided for shaping an end of a solid cosmetic stick. In the process the cosmetic stick is conveyed to a trimming station provided with a rotatable knife and a camming device. The device directs contact of the stick and knife over a nonlinear cutting path. The knife is rotated along the stick to remove portions thereof in a preselected fashion controlled by the camming device.
