An apparatus and method for delivering fluid from a syringe to a subject using a pumping device of a flow control apparatus. The method includes locating the flow control apparatus on a horizontal support surface. Providing the syringe with a volume of fluid including a total amount of preferred nutrient and an amount of non-preferred nutrient liquid. Mounting the syringe relative to the flow control apparatus whereby the syringe is oriented in a generally vertical orientation such that an outlet of the syringe faces upward. Initiating operation of the pumping device to draw the fluid from the syringe for a duration of time to preferentially deliver at least a portion of the total amount of preferred nutrient in the fluid to the subject.

An eyeglasses holder comprising an arm and a hollow body. The arm is connected to the hollow body through a bridge at the top end of the arm forming a groove between the arm and hollow body. According to one embodiment, a plurality of planar protrusions extends radially from the inner surface of the hollow body toward the center of the hollow body to grip and secure the eyeglasses during transport. An alternative embodiment comprises a magnetic member contained by the hollow body that exerts a magnetic force on a pair of eyeglasses either directly or via an attached metallic strip.

A single device is provided for performing hysterography and intrauterine venography having a marker that aids in positioning the device within the patient, having a bulb-tip to seal the cervix, having a bulb-tip opening to allow an image enhancing medium to be discharged from a needle and injected into the uterus to perform the hysterography, having a needle to discharge and inject an image enhancing medium into the fundal myometrium to perform the intrauterine venography, and having a needle securing mechanism to secure the needle to prevent patient injury during transcervical introduction of the device.

A stent is made from a coiled wire and is very smooth along its length and as well its ends. The stent is thus highly atraumatic to patients, and because of its smooth surfaces, it presents a surface to which it is difficult for microbes to cling. The stent may be used in a minimally invasive procedure, such as for a ureteral stent, and may also be used percutaneously. Similar stents may be used in other body areas, such as in draining the biliary tract, the gastro-intestinal tract, hepatic procedures, and in vascular procedures as well.
