Systems and methods relating to usage of multimodal transportation systems are disclosed. Such systems and methods may identify available local transportation modes for a user, such as vehicle-sharing, ridesharing, rental vehicles, taxicabs, owned vehicles, or public transit options. The available transportation modes may be compared, and recommendations may be presented to the user. Routes may be identified, compared, or recommended to a user, and scheduling or ticket purchasing may be facilitated. With user permission, user transportation data may be collected via a smartphone to identify user transportation patterns and preferences, thereby improving recommendations regarding and assessment of user transportation. Information regarding risks or other relevant factors associated with various transportation modes may be assessed for a user based upon typical characteristics of user transportation choices over a plurality of transportation scenarios, which may be indicated by a user transportation profile.

Systems and methods of monitoring and analyzing multimodal transportation usage

A data aggregation and processing engine optimizes underwriting decisions in the life insurance industry by using social media data to reduce the level of underwriting required. Social media data enables underwriting thresholds based on risk assessments and credibility correlations within publicly available social media data sets with options for opting into more detailed analysis of private social data. Activity monitors further refine appropriate underwriting actions together with correlations with provided biographical data.

Social media data aggregation to optimize underwriting

Systems and methods are provided for identifying vehicle care that may reduce risk in fields not directly associated with a vehicle itself. One or more electronic sources may provide an indication of care (e.g., service, maintenance, or part configuration) of a vehicle by a user, and the vehicle care may be determined to be associated with a lowered risk for an entity (e.g., a home or business) operated by the same user in another field not associated with operation of the vehicle itself. In response, a user-specific reward may be generated and transmitted to the user, to further incentivize vehicle care and other risk averse behavior in the other field.

A central entity, such as an insurance provider, may receive the vehicle information and avail information related to a plurality of vehicles to vehicle owners or operators in a single source dashboard. The central entity may assess the vehicle circumstances to determine whether to notify the individuals of an event, such as a vehicle recall or upcoming maintenance, and then generate notifications and communicate the notifications to the individuals. The notifications may enable the individuals to take maintenance, repair, update, and/or other actions to manage the circumstances and potentially avoid situations that may cause unnecessary financial commitments or vehicle damage. The insurance provider may adjust auto insurance premiums, discounts, rewards, or rebates based upon the type or usage of the dashboard functionality utilized by an insured.
