Systems, devices, and methods for measuring blood pressure without the use of a pump are provided. A pumpless blood pressure measuring system or device can be wearable for long periods of time comfortably. The pumpless blood pressure measuring system or device can include a body, at least one tension band connected to the body, at least one pressure sensor configured to be in direct physical contact with the user's body, and a tourniquet mechanism. The tourniquet mechanism can be tightened to lead to artery occlusion such that the at least one pressure plate can determine the blood pressure of the user/wearer.

Devices and methods for pumpless blood pressure measurement

Systems and methods for visualizing, and/or determining the amount of, collagen and elastin in tissue are provided. Training data can be generated using Mueller matrix polarimetry microscopy data, combined with second harmonic generation (SHG) and/or two photon excitation fluorescence (TPEF) microscopy data as ground truth. The SHG and/or TPEF data can be used to train a neural network for feature extraction, and classification can be performed. The components and decompositions of the Mueller matrix data can be arranged as individual channels of information, forming one voxel per sample.

Systems and methods for visualizing elastin and collagen in tissue

Methods, apparatuses, and systems for measuring collagen organization in the cervix, assessing the health of a woman's cervix (including a pregnant woman's cervix), characterizing the composition and structure of cervical tissue, and measuring preterm labor risk are provided. Polarization sensitive techniques and properties of cervical tissue, including birefringence, can be used. A method can include acquiring in vivo images of cervical tissue, applying Mueller matrix (MM) polarimetry (including 4&#xd7;4 Mueller matrix polarimetry), and determining one or more parameters of the cervical tissue using the Mueller matrix (MM) polarimetry. The in vivo images can be analyzed and various parameters that characterize the cervical tissue can be determined. Graphs and maps of the cervical tissue can be generated for use as care provider tools.

Optical imaging for preterm birth assessment

Provided is a Coupled Domain Sensor (CDS) that can be used to, for example, evaluate hydration and occlusion of blood in patients with edema using electrical and optical measurements. Advantageously, the CDS provides a quicker, more effective and accurate way of monitoring this medical condition.
