A method of guiding a catheter during an embolization operation includes receiving volume data of a patient volume, the patient volume including a lesion and a feeding vessel for the lesion, detecting the feeding vessel in the volume data, define a vessel connection path for the feeding vessel, the vessel connection path connecting first and second points in the volume data, the second point being disposed along the feeding vessel, receiving fluoroscopic projection data of the patient volume, and rendering the fluoroscopic projection data with an overlay during the embolization operation, the overlay including the vessel connection path for the feeding vessel.

A radiography device and a radiography method are specifically adapted for examinations in the field of pediatric radiology. The radiography device examines a diagnosis-relevant region of a patient. The device has a radiation source, which emits radiological rays in an irradiation direction. An irradiation surface is selectable in dependence of a specified examination region of the patient. The radiography device also has a measurement field. The size of the measurement field is changeable such that the size of the measurement field and the size of the irradiation surface correlate.

Radiography device and method for examinations in the field of pediatric radiology

A method for operating a multi-axis, preferably six-axis, robot with axes that can be driven by drive means is proposed. The axes are possible to be moved separately and their movement is controlled by a control facility. Before the movement of the robot is executed, a control data record is created for controlling the movement of the robot as a function of initial and target information for the robot input by a user. The control facility performs a verification of the control data record in respect of at least one predefined basic condition relating to the operation of the robot stored in a memory. The control data record is adjusted based on the at least one basic condition while retaining the target information as a function of the result of the check.

Method for operating a multi-axis robot

In a method and system for planning and implementing a selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT), the liver volume and the tumor volume are automatically calculated in a processor by analysis of items segmented from images obtained from the patient using one or more imaging modalities, with the administration of a contrast agent. The volume of therapeutic agent that is necessary to treat the tumor is automatically calculated from the liver volume, the tumor volume, and the body surface area of the patient and the lung shunt percentage for the patient. The therapeutic agent can be administered via respective feeder vessels in respectively different amounts that correspond to the percentage of blood supply to the tumor from the respective feeder vessels, this distribution also being automatically calculated by analysis of one or more parenchymal blood volume (PBV) images.

Method and apparatus for selective internal radiation therapy planning and implementation

A method for transmitting an invitation to a communication relating to a medical image in a DICOM data record from a person who has access to the image to a partner is proposed. The invitation is stored as information in the DICOM data record of the image. The DICOM data record is transmitted to a server. With reference to the invitation, the server determines a message channel which leads to the partner. The server transmits the invitation to the partner via the message channel.
