Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a storage device and a method for powering the storage. The storage device is powered by a main power supply and the storage device comprises a processor, a baseboard management controller (BMC), a plurality of disks, a first backup power supply and a second backup power supply. The first backup power supply is at least coupled to the processor, and the second backup power supply is at least coupled to the baseboard management controller. Embodiments of the present disclosure enable flexible spatial arrangement of backup power supplies by arranging a plurality of backup power supplies in the storage device.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method, an apparatus, an additional power supply, and a mainboard system for supplying power to a processor. The method comprises determining whether an additional power supply is able to provide extra power required by a processor in response to receiving a first signal from a power supply unit that supplies power to the processor. The first signal indicates that the power required by the processor exceeds maximum power that can be provided by the power supply unit. The method further comprises supplying power to the processor by at least the additional power supply in response to determining that the additional power supply is able to provide extra power. The embodiments of the present disclosure can supply the required extra power to the processor from the additional power supply so as to optimize the performance of the processor in an acceleration mode.

Method and apparatus for supplying power to a processor

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method and apparatus for charging a battery pack. The method comprises: detecting voltages of batteries in the battery pack in real time; charging the battery pack with a charging current that is at least based on the detected voltages; and performing, on the batteries in the battery pack, balance charging by a digital discharging signal. A solution according to the present disclosure may reduce the costs and achieve a more flexible and safe charging approach.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relates to a method and device for balancing a supply current. In one embodiment, a current supply current for a load is detected. A first signal representing the current supply current is transmitted to a digital logic module. A second signal representing a maximum supply current and a third signal representing a minimum supply current are received from the digital logic module. A subsequent supply current for the load is determined based on the current supply current, the maximum supply current and the minimum supply current. By using the method and device according to the embodiments of the present disclosure, the supply currents of a plurality of power supply units for the load can be balanced a simple way with a low hardware cost.

Embodiments of the present invention relate to a solution for supplying power to a processor. In some embodiments, there is provided a method for supplying power to a processor. The method comprises, in response to determining that an output voltage of a main power supply supplying power to a processor is lower than a predefined threshold, enabling an additional power supply to supply power to the processor. The method further comprises determining output power of the additional power supply. In addition, the method further comprises, in response to determining that the output power of the additional power supply exceeds peak power limit of the additional power supply, sending, by the additional power supply, a signal to the processor to lower a clock frequency of the processor.

Method and apparatus for power supply to processor

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method and apparatus for testing a condition of a battery. In one embodiment, a testing instruction for the battery is received from a controller of a device. In response to reception of the instruction, the battery is caused in a testing mode in which the battery and a power supply of the device concurrently provide power to the device, a first voltage provided by the battery being greater than a second voltage provided by the power supply. A condition of the battery is determined by monitoring an output current of the battery. Through the method and apparatus of the embodiments of the present disclosure, consumption for battery test may be reduced without a need of interrupting operations of the apparatus.
