A die apparatus including a flexible lip integrally connected to a main body, the lip configured to adjust a gap between the flexible lip and a second lip and includes a slide bar equipped with multiple linear bearings where the slide bar and bearings are positioned in a slot of the main body, the multiple bearings further positioned in multiple pockets defined by the slide bar, the slot positioned in a spaced relation from the lip. In one aspect the slide bar includes a threaded hole to receive a fastener configured to fasten a pivot member to the slide bar, the pivot member configured to pivot in order to adjust the lip. The slide bar and bearings may be used on a variety of die apparatus having an integrally connected lip.

Die having linear bearing array

The invention comprises a die apparatus including a flexible lip for adjusting a gap between the flexible lip and a second lip. The apparatus includes linear moving members that are moved through pivoting pivot members. The pivoting members pivot by adjusting a slide bar. The apparatus may also include a cross-bar contacting the lip and extending substantially the length of the lip, where the cross-bar is connected to the linear moving members that are moved through the pivoting pivot members. As a result, the dimensions of the gap may be changed by moving the slide bar in a first direction or a second direction.

Lip adjustment system

The invention comprises a die apparatus including a flexible lip for adjusting a gap between the flexible lip and a second lip. The apparatus includes a rotating shaft that cooperates to move the flexible lip. The rotating shaft may communicate with linear moving members to move the flexible lip. The apparatus may also include a cross-bar contacting the lip and extending substantially the length of the lip, where the cross-bar is connected to the linear moving members that are moved by the rotating shaft. As a result, the dimensions of the gap may be changed by moving the rotating shaft in a first direction or a second direction.

The invention comprises a die apparatus including a flexible lip for adjusting a gap between the flexible lip and a second lip, along with an indicator system for measuring the lip and a corresponding adjustment. In one aspect the apparatus includes a sliding bar that communicates with the flexible lip. In addition, the sliding bar communicates with an indicator member having a body and an arm, where the arm corresponds with indicia and the indicator measure lip gap adjustment along the indicia in response to movement of the sliding member.

The invention comprises a die apparatus including a flexible lip for adjusting a gap between the flexible lip and a second lip. The apparatus includes linear moving members that are adjusted through operative communication with gradients on a slide bar. Ball bearings may be in operative communication with the gradients of the slide bar. Movement of the slide bar causes the ball bearings to move linearly, which, in turn, cause the linear moving members to move in a similar linear direction. The moving members operatively communicate with the lip. As a result, the dimensions of the gap may be changed by moving the slide bar in a first direction.
