Some touch screens can be formed with rows and columns of touch electrodes. In some examples, during a first time period, a first set of row electrodes are driven while a second set of row electrodes are sensed. In some examples, during a second time period, the first set of row electrodes are sensed while the second set of row electrodes are driven. In some examples, during a third time period, a first set of column electrodes are driven while a second set of column electrodes are sensed. In some examples, during a fourth time period, the first set of column electrodes are sensed while the second set of column electrodes are driven. In some examples, a touch image can be generated based on the data sensed from the first, second, third, and fourth time periods.

During operation, an electronic device monitors data associated with different power states received from another electronic device via an interface circuit. Using the monitored data, the electronic device calculates a time duration that the other electronic device is in an active operating mode. Moreover, the electronic device determines power states of the other electronic device based on the calculated time duration and/or a time duration between times when data is received. Next, the electronic device calculates the power-consumption history of the other electronic device based on the determined power states and at least a model of power consumption in different power states of the other electronic device. By calculating the power-consumption history of the other electronic device, the electronic device may significantly improve the accuracy of a power-usage model for the other electronic device.

The method includes communicatively coupling with a keyboard and querying the keyboard for a descriptor. Receiving the descriptor from the keyboard, wherein the descriptor includes data representative of a language, layout, and key mappings for the keyboard. Storing the data from the descriptor at the host and publishing strings for proper translation and interpretation of input received from the keyboard.

The present disclosure relates generally to systems and techniques for applying color adjustments to a display. In certain embodiments, the color adjustment techniques may be employed to transition current color correction values, which are based on a previously detected temperature of the display, to target correction values, which are based on a presently detected temperature of the display. Adjustment increments for each color channel of the display may be determined based on the color channel that has the largest difference between the current color correction value and the target color correction value. In particular, the number of adjustment steps may be determined so that the adjustment increment for each channel is less than or equal to a maximum adjustment increment.

A system measures the color output of a computer monitor by using predetermined phosphor characteristics of the monitor that are stored in monitor memory. The relationship between beam current and pixel values is then determined and stored in computer memory. When a color output measurement is taken, the average pixel values are determined. The beam currents associated with the average pixel values are then accessed from the computer memory and multiplied by the phosphor characteristics to obtain an accurate color output measurement.

A current sampler measures a present beam current within the display monitor. A beam current controller increases a gain of an amplifier within the monitor by a delta value if the present beam current is less than the target beam current, and decreases the gain of the amplifier by the delta value if the present beam current is greater than the target beam current. A first step in the method selects a target beam current. A second step measures a present beam current generated by an amplifier. A third step increases a gain of the amplifier by a delta value if the present beam current is less than the target beam current. A fourth step decreases the gain of the amplifier by the delta value if the present beam current is greater than the target beam current. A fifth step sets a multiplier to a predetermined value. The system determines the intensity and hue of the ambient illumination reflected from the output device by matching the intensity and hue of the ambient illumination reflected from the reflection device with the output of the output device. The system then adjusts the outputs of the output device to compensate for the reflected ambient illumination.

A method and system for formatting characteristic CRT information into a standardized format to provide a dynamic CRT characteristic profile to enhance presently used methods of recalibrating CRTs is disclosed. Present CRT parameters are measured and combined with previously acquired calibration parameters in order to create updated characteristic information for the profile. The characteristic information includes the CRT color gamut, the white and black point of the CRT and the gamma of the CRT. In addition, ambient lighting conditions may be included in the profile. This characteristic information is stored in a CRT characterization profile in a standardized format. The profile is updated whenever the CRT is recalibrated or whenever the operating conditions of the CRT are changed. Further, the profile may be employed to recalibrate a destination CRT based on a source CRT's profile.
