Systems, methods, and devices for current monitoring and power control for utility vehicles are disclosed. A control device for directing current to utility vehicle auxiliary devices, such as an inverter and a front bumper winch, may be coupled to the utility vehicle battery. The control device may have an input terminal for coupling to the utility vehicle battery and one or more output terminals coupled to the utility vehicle auxiliary devices. The input terminal may receive current from the battery. The control device may control the flow of current to each of the output terminals. Sensors may detect the current flowing through the control device to detect if either a low current short or a high current short may occur, and corrective action may be taken in response to detecting an abnormal current.

Systems, methods, and devices for current monitoring and power control

A control input apparatus for operating an aerial lift system includes a control lever assembly that has at least one control lever and at least one position sensor. The at least one position sensor may indicate a position and/or a movement of the at least one control lever. The control input apparatus additionally incudes a control input element actuatable over a movement range from a non-actuated position to a fully-actuated position, and at least one interlock sensor that releases an interlock corresponding to the control lever assembly upon the control input element being actuated at least to an actuation threshold position located between the non-actuated position and the fully-actuated position. Upon the control input element being actuated at least to the actuation threshold position, the control input apparatus provides control inputs corresponding to the position and/or the movement of the control lever indicated by the at least one position sensor.

Aerial lift systems and control input apparatuses with high electrical resistance for use with aerial lift systems

Systems and methods for platform occupancy detection on an aerial device are described. An aerial platform may be provided for the aerial device. A worker may perform operations in the aerial platform and connect to an interlock system thereof. The worker may have an associated transmitter configured to transmit a signal. A first receiver and a second receiver may be disposed on the aerial platform to receive the signal. Based on the time difference between receiving the signal at the first receiver and receiving the signal at the second receiver, the position of the transmitter may be triangulated. If the transmitter is determined to be within the aerial platform and the worker is not connected to the interlock system, preventive actions may be taken before operation of the aerial platform is permitted.

Aerial platform occupancy detection

A voltage and current alert system and method for an aerial vehicle including an extendable boom member is disclosed. The system and method include voltage and current sensors disposed throughout the aerial vehicle. The system and method further include components for conversion of the alert signal from a digital signal to a fiber optic signal, therein decreasing the power requirements of the system as well as allowing the signal to bypass a dielectric gap. The system further may shutdown operation of the aerial vehicle upon a detection event.

An insulating switch assembly is disclosed. The insulating switch assembly provides electrical insulation between a user and highly charged electric components by employing highly-resistive or nonconductive material. The insulating switch assembly also distances the user from the electrical components by increasing the distance from the user input device and electric components. The user of the insulating switch assembly is provided layers of electrical insulation.

Provided is a relief valve with an inlet, and outlet, and a backside of a poppet fluidly connected to an input pressure to increasingly close the poppet as a function of input pressure until a prescribed pressure condition is reached. Upon the prescribed pressure condition being reached, the relief valve decreases pressure on the backside of the poppet to open the poppet and allow fluid flow from the inlet to the outlet. Increasingly closing the poppet allows the relief valve to operate under high pressure conditions and repeatedly open and close to reliable seal without significant leakage after thousands of cycles.

An adjustable solenoid assembly with an adjustable threaded pole having an interference fit section to be used with a complementary threaded receiver (e.g., the bore of the top plate) with an interference fit section. The adjustable threaded sections are used to pull or push the interference fit sections together and allow for precise locating of the interference fit sections and adjustment. The threaded pole may be used to set and maintain a precision working air gap between the pole piece and the plunger of the electromagnetic solenoid assembly. The interference fit holds the pole piece into location while still allowing the solenoid to be adjustable without a loss in flux density.
