A grab bar assembly includes a support beam adapted to be mounted to a vehicle and defining a longitudinal axis, a grab bar having an inner beam disposed within the support beam and movable relative to the support beam in first and second directions along the longitudinal axis. The assembly further includes a locking plate attached to the inner beam and a locking mechanism coupled to the support beam and having a latch movable between a lock position engaging the locking plate to fix the grab bar in a location relative to the support beam and a release position disengaging the locking plate to permit adjustment of the grab bar and the inner beam along the longitudinal axis in one of the first and second directions.

Pedal apparatus

A pedal assembly for a vehicle, including a pedal arm moveable between a first position and a second position, and a pivot shaft is operatively attached to the pedal arm. The pivot shaft defines a pivot axis. A housing having a mount adapted for attachment to the vehicle is provided. The housing defines a bore supporting at least a portion of the pivot shaft to permit rotation of the pedal arm about the pivot axis. A debris filtering mechanism is formed in at least one of the pivot shaft and the bore to direct contaminants away from the pedal assembly and out of the bore as the pedal arm moves between the first position and the second position.

A bidirectional pedal assembly for a vehicle. The assembly includes a support mounted on the vehicle and a pedal pivotally coupled to the support about a pivot shaft. The pedal pivots between a neutral position and first and second operational positions. A biasing member is mounted within the support and continuously biases the pedal to the neutral position. A control mechanism is coupled to the support and the pedal to retard pivotal movement of the pedal as the pedal returns from the operational positions to the neutral position. A handle can be coupled to the pedal and pivot concurrently with the pedal. A frictional mechanism can be disposed within the support and provide increasing resistance as the pedal moves increasingly away from the neutral position. The biasing mechanism, frictional mechanism, and/or control mechanism are configured to force the pedal to the neutral position with no overshoot within a predetermined period.

Bidirectional pedal assembly

A pedal assembly for a vehicle, including a pedal arm, a pivot shaft operatively attached to the pedal arm and defining a pivot axis, and identical and housing components. The housing components each have a body defining an inner surface and an outer surface, a mount formed on the body and adapted for attachment to the vehicle, a receiver formed on the body extending away from the outer surface, a coupler formed on the body extending away from the outer surface and disposed in spaced relation with the receiver, and a bore defined along the inner surface arranged between the receiver and the coupler to support at least a portion of the pivot shaft. Each respective receiver engages the corresponding coupler in an interlocked configuration with the bores being aligned about the pivot axis to rotatably support the pivot shaft for rotation about the pivot axis.
