The present invention relates to the present invention relates to a time indicating label comprising (a) a label substrate having a first and second surface, (b) an acid-base indicator composition, and (c) an activator composition, wherein one of (b) or (c) are on the first surface of the substrate and wherein (b) and (c) when brought in contact remain adhered. The label may have a pressure sensitive adhesive on the second surface of the label. The invention further relates to a method of using the time-temperature indicating label. The labels provide an effective means for determine the safety of frozen foods. The labels also provide a means of providing security by providing name badges that are time sensitive and may not be reused. The name badges provide a means to monitor the length of a visitor's time and prevents reusing the name badge.

An adhesive construction, characterized by excellent converting and adhesive performance, comprises a facestock, a face-side adhesive (FSA) in contact with a first surface of the facestock, and a liner-side adhesive (LSA) in contact with the FSA. The FSA is compounded with an organopolysiloxane or modified organopolysiloxane. Single layer constructions, and multilayer constructions comprising more than two adhesive layers, and unique adhesive compositions, are also provided. The present invention is directed toward multilayer pressure-sensitive adhesive constructions with improved convertibility and aging. In one embodiment, the multilayer constructions have one layer formed of a first adhesive composition having a first glass transition temperature, and also having a tangent delta greater than about 0.5 at 10 radians per second at 20&deg; C., and a storage modulus greater than about 3&times;10 dynes/cm at 10 radians per second at 20&deg; C. At least a second adhesive layer is provided in the construction, the second adhesive layer comprising a second adhesive composition with a second glass transition temperature.

Multilayer pressure-sensitive adhesive construction

An improved hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive (HMPSA) composition contains an elastomeric component, such as a blend of SIS and SB block copolymers, and a tackifying component comprising one or more intermediate softening point resins (ISPRs) having a ring and ball softening point of from 35 to 60&deg; C. The improved adhesive compositions are characterized by reduced volatility, less bleed and staining tendencies, and improved overall adhesive performance. The invention also provides improved label constructions in which a release liner is coated with an HMPSA composition and laminated to a flexible facestock. Notably, even when low basis weight paper facestocks are used, the construction can be converted at high speeds.

In the preferrred method, viscosity is adjusted by varying the temperature of one or both fluids prior to coating and/or by reformulating the liquids to vary their relative viscosities.
