Self-righting articles, such as self-righting capsules for administration to a subject, are generally provided. In some embodiments, the self-righting article may be configured such that the article may orient itself relative to a surface (e.g., a surface of a tissue of a subject). The self-righting articles described herein may comprise one or more tissue engaging surfaces configured to engage (e.g., interface with, inject into, anchor) with a surface (e.g., a surface of a tissue of a subject). In some embodiments, the self-righting article may have a particular shape and/or distribution of density (or mass) which, for example, enables the self-righting behavior of the article. In some embodiments, the self-righting article may comprise a tissue interfacing component and/or a pharmaceutical agent (e.g., for delivery of the active pharmaceutical agent to a location internal of the subject) such as a liquid pharmaceutical agent. In some cases, upon contact of the tissue with the tissue engaging surface of the article, the self-righting article may be configured to release one or more tissue interfacing components. In some cases, the tissue interfacing component is associated with a self-actuating component. For example, the self-righting article may comprise a self-actuating component configured, upon exposure to a fluid, to release the tissue interfacing component from the self-righting article.

Systems and methods for liquid injection

A drug delivery device comprises a housing () and an expelling assembly with a piston rod (), a drive tube () with an outer surface and a scale drum () arranged between the drive tube and the housing, the scale drum being coupled to the housing and the drive tube outer surface. The device further comprises a drive spring () arranged between the housing and the drive tube, and setting means () allowing a user to simultaneously set a dose amount to be expelled and strain the drive spring correspondingly by rotation of the drive tube. The scale drum is coupled to the drive tube via a spline connection, wherein the drive spring is arranged proximally of the spline connection when the spline connection is in its proximal-most position.

A drug delivery device comprising or adapted to receive a drug-filled cartridge, comprising a piston rod adapted to be rotated by a drive member to thereby move the piston rod distally during expelling, dose setting means allowing a user to simultaneously set a dose amount to be expelled, and a releasable locking mechanism adapted to rotationally lock the drive member relative to the housing during dose setting. Spring-driven drug delivery device

A drug delivery device () comprises a housing and an expelling assembly adapted to expel a dose of drug from a cartridge (). The expelling assembly comprises a drive spring () which in an energized state is adapted to drive the expelling assembly, a rotating component () adapted to rotate relative to an axis of rotation during expelling of a dose of drug, and user actuated release means () for releasing the drive spring to thereby expel a dose of drug. A cartridge () with a septum and a needle unit () having front and rear needles () are configured for relative movement from a state where the septum is sealed to a state where the septum is pierced by the rear needle (). The injection device () may include a needle shield () and be configured for piercing the septum by the rear needle () when the front needle () is operated relative to the needle shield (). The injection device () may also include a damping mechanism configured for limiting the speed of movement of the cartridge relative to the needle unit. The injection device () may also include an indicator generating a signal when a piston driver has travelled the complete stroke length, wherein the indicator has a deflection element that is deflected prior to or during movement of the cartridge relative to the housing.

Medical injection device

Sensor assembly comprising a first rotary sensor part with a plurality of individual electrically conducting sensor areas arranged in a pattern, a second rotary sensor part arranged rotationally relative to the first portion, the second part comprising a plurality of contact structures adapted to be in contact with conducting sensor areas on the first sensor rotary part. The contact structures are configured to engage and connect different sensor areas as the first and second part of the rotary sensor rotate relative to each, the created connections being indicative of a rotational position between the first and second portions. One of the contact structures is an actuatable contact structure being axially moveable relative to the first portion and having a connected position in which the actuatable contact structure is in contact with a sensor area and a disconnected position in which the actuatable contact structure is not in contact with a sensor area.

The present invention relates to injection devices for injecting a dose of a medicament. The injection device () incorporates a housing (), a needle assembly () and a cover (). The needle assembly () comprises an injection needle () accommodated in a needle container () having an opening which in a storage state of the injection device () is sealed by a film seal (). The cover may include sections () arranged movable relative to the housing (). The injection device () is so configured that upon movement of the cover sections () relative to the housing () the film seal () is changed from a sealing state to an unsealing state for shifting the injection device () into a ready-to-administer state.

A needle magazine () attachable to an injection device containing a liquid drug and which magazine () comprises a main part () and revolving part () which can be rotated to bring a selected needle cannula () into an injection position. The magazine () is provided with a centrally located tube () for penetrating into the injection device and has an internal conduit () for guiding the liquid drug from the tube () and to a peripheral area of the magazine (). In this peripheral area a plurality of needle cannulae () are provided which needle cannulae () successively can be brought into liquid communication with the liquid drug in the conduit () by axial movement of the revolving part ().

The present invention relates to injection devices for injecting a medicament from a cartridge () through a needle cannula (). The injection device () includes an actuator () for driving a piston driver () and includes an end of stroke limiter (). When the piston driver () is arrested by the end of stroke limiter () a shielding driver () is automatically triggered to actively shift the needle cannula () into a shielded state. The injection device may include a fluid dispensing interruption mechanism that automatically interrupts fluid flow when the piston driver has moved a predetermined stroke length. The injection device may also include a single pre-stressed spring acting exclusively in a linear compression mode or exclusively in a torsion mode and adapted to sequentially drive the device to enable fully automatic operation. The invention also relates to a method of sterilizing a needle cannula assembly.
