A safety system of a wind turbine system is provided. The wind turbine system includes at least one wind turbine and a hydrogen production system configured to produce hydrogen using electrical power generated by the wind turbine. The safety system include a monitoring system configured to monitor the wind turbine system to detect a malfunction of the hydrogen production system. It further includes a control system configured to trigger a safety function of the wind turbine system upon detection of a malfunction of the hydrogen production system by the monitoring system.

Safety system for a wind turbine system including hydrogen production

A wind turbine includes a generator for converting wind energy into electrical energy, a hydrogen production system for producing hydrogen by means of the electrical energy, a first auxiliary group of electrical consumers, a second auxiliary group of electrical consumers, and an auxiliary power network for powering the first auxiliary group and the second auxiliary group, wherein only the first auxiliary group is electrically disconnected from the auxiliary power network by means of one or a plurality of switch disconnectors to reduce the energy consumption of the auxiliary power network. Due to the one or the plurality of switch disconnectors, it is possible to disconnect the first auxiliary group from power. This helps to save energy in the case that the first auxiliary group is not needed for the operation of the wind turbine.

Wind turbine and method

A device for connecting an electric power generator to an HVDC transmission system is provided, the device having (a) a first unit for converting an AC output voltage from the electric power generator to a DC input voltage for the HVDC transmission system, the first unit having a transformer and a full-bridge rectifier, and (b) a second unit for generating control voltages and/or control currents in the transformer and/or in the electric power generator, the second unit having a PWM full-bridge converter adapted to receive the AC output voltage from the electric power generator or an AC voltage based on said AC output voltage. A generator for producing electric power, the generator including a generator unit including a stator) and a rotatably supported rotor, wherein the stator includes a first set of windings and a second set of windings, and the rotor is adapted to induce electrical voltage in the first set of windings and in the second set of windings when the rotor is rotated relative to the stator, the generator further includes a first converter coupled to the first set of windings, the first converter being adapted to convert alternating voltage in the first set of windings into an output DC voltage, a DC output coupled to the first converter to receive the output DC voltage, and a second converter coupled to the second set of windings and to the DC output, the second converter being adapted to generate control voltages and/or control currents in the second set of windings, is provided.

Generator for producing electric power

A method to control the operation of a wind turbine above a wind speed threshold value and a wind turbine designed to execute the method are provided. Electrical output power of the wind turbine is produced by its rotating blades and fed into a grid, which is connected with the wind turbine. The wind turbine is controlled by a first control loop and a second control loop. The wind speed is determined and compared with a certain predefined wind speed threshold value. Wind turbulences are determined and compared with a predefined wind turbulence threshold value. The first control loop and the second control loop are activated when the wind speed reaches or exceeds the wind speed threshold value. The activated first control loop controls the output power dependent on the wind speed. The activated second control loop controls the rotational speed of the rotating blades dependent on the wind turbulences.

Method to control the operation of a wind turbine

A stator-arrangement for a generator is disclosed. The stator arrangement includes a plurality of stator segments. Each of the plurality of stator segments includes at least one stator winding and is adapted to build a ring-shaped stator when assembled. At least one cooling means is provided with each of the plurality of stator segments.
