Disclosed is an eye simulator device, wherein same is a medical training aid and includes: an eyepiece having a display configured to project at least one image onto or through a convex shaped front surface of a simulated eyeball of the eyepiece; a support configured to hold the eyepiece; a simulated eyelid pivotally attached to the support; and an actuator assembly having an actuator arm and an electromagnetic (EM) coil in connection with the actuator arm, so as to control a motion of the simulated eyelid, which allows to more realistically mimic the eye, and to more intuitively mimic a motion change of the eye, and it is illustratable to show a change process of the eye by projecting an eye condition, making it easier for a student to understand.

Embodiments relate to a system for generating simulated eye movements and eye responses related to concussion symptoms for training medical practitioners. The system includes a computer device with a display that displays the pair of simulated eyes. Scenarios are generated and executed, in which simulated eye movements and responses to external stimuli are representative of typical symptoms associated with having a concussion. A user (e.g., medical trainee or medical trainer) provides external inputs e.g., voice commands, stylus movements, etc.) and assess eye movements provided by the scenarios and eye responses to the external inputs.

A medical simulator having a heat exchanger configured to transfer heat from electronics and other components of the medical simulator to simulated blood of a simulated vascular system of the medical simulator. The heated simulated blood can be circulated throughout the simulated vascular system to provide more realistic training for medical practitioners by increasing the temperature of the skin of the medical simulator to a more realistic temperature. Circulating the heated simulated blood can also serve to cool the electronics and other components, while simultaneously transferring the heat out from the vascular system into an environment outside of the medical simulator.

A medical training system comprises a controller configured to program a plurality of medical device simulators, and a plurality of medical device simulators coupled to the controller, including at least two of a sphygmomanometer simulator, pulse simulator, thoracic cavity simulator, scale and stadiometer simulator, pulse oximetry simulator, and thermometer simulator. The plurality of medical device simulators form a suite of coordinating diagnostic medical simulators for live training and evaluation.

A sphygmomanometer simulator for live training includes an upper arm cuff for a simulated patient; a rigid walled pressure vessel within the cuff; a manual inflator and manual release valve coupled to the rigid walled vessel to selectively increase and release the pressure within the pressure vessel; a pressure sensor coupled to the pressure vessel; a cuff controller receiving the pressure sensor measurements and controlling a speaker within the cuff to emit designated simulated Korotkoff sounds associated with a simulated blood pressure and with the pressure of the pressure vessel; a visual gauge controlled by the cuff controller and displaying a pressure associated with the pressure in the pressure vessel and simulated Korotkoff gauge bumps associated with the simulated blood pressure for the simulated patient; and a user controller coupled to the cuff controller for inputting the simulated blood pressure for the simulated patient.
