Systems and methods for smooth attended or unattended package delivery and retrieval may be provided through a container locker. Delivery companies and their respective delivery means may interact with the container locker wirelessly, through handheld devices, or through mechanisms provided on the container locker itself. The processes of receiving or pickup of a parcel or other item may be facilitated, regardless the user's presence or absence from the delivery/pickup location. Systems and methods may receive, secure, maintain, and temporarily house delivery or pickup items and concomitantly document, verify, confirm, and communicate data in varied forms to the parties interested or engaged in such deliveries or retrievals through a variety of connected networks, communication means and the use thereof.

A system and method that helps evacuees exit a building in the event of an emergency such as a smoke event, a fire, an earthquake, a security breach, and/or the presence of unsafe levels of hazardous gasses, using linear illuminators parallel to and near the floor of an interior room or hallway to provide floor-level identification and illumination of the exit route to be used in the event of such an emergency, with some linear illuminators having directional aspects along hallways to lead evacuees toward an exit, and other illuminators outlining the perimeter of windows or doors that are safe to exit through, the illuminators normally being hardly noticeable but having controllers and energizers linked to the alarm and security systems of hospitals, hotels, residences and other occupied building structures to light up the planned exit route when emergency conditions are detected.

A sod harvesting apparatus (10) is disclosed including a cut-off device (14), a cutting unit (16) and a roll-up and core carrying device (18) mounted to a tractor (12). The first arm (110) is pivoted by a hydraulic cylinder (126) and the second arm (112) is simultaneously pivoted by a rod (122) having a first end pivotably mounted to the first arm (110) on the side of the pivot axis (116) opposite the spindle (120) and a second end pivotably mounted to the second arm (112) on the same side of the pivot axis (116) as the spindle (120).
