Operating heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems using occupancy sensing are described herein. One device includes instructions which cause a processor to receive building information including information defining a plurality of spaces of a building, occupancy sensing system information describing a location of each of a plurality of occupancy sensing system fixtures with respect to a representation of the building, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system information describing a relationship between the plurality of spaces and a plurality of HVAC devices installed in the building, create a mapping between a space of the plurality of spaces, a fixture of the plurality of fixtures, and an HVAC device of the plurality of HVAC devices based on the building information, and modify an operation of the HVAC device based on the mapping and responsive to a determination of occupancy in the space by the fixture.

Extracting and publishing point data from a building site model

Rule-based modeling for building control systems is described herein. One device includes a memory, a user, interface, and a processor configured to execute executable instructions stored in the memory to display, in a single view on the user interface, a listing of all components of a facility controlled by a building control system, display, in an additional view on the user interface, a number of rules for mapping the components of the facility to a common model of the building control system, map the components of the facility to the common model by applying the number of rules to the components of the facility, and display, in the additional view on the user interface, the components of the facility that have been mapped to the common model.

Rule-based modeling for building control systems

A refrigeration manager that can be used to monitor and control disparate refrigeration systems at a site, even when the refrigeration systems are manufactured by different vendors. The refrigeration manager provides common views for the disparate refrigeration systems, which may help a technician more easily monitor and control the various refrigeration systems at a site.

A system and approach that provides a basis for monitoring, control, and communications among many remote controller sites and building equipment. A system architectural goal may be to distribute a workload of a supervisor across multiple processing units while maintaining a seamless and integrated workflow for a user experience.

Data manager

An approach relating to providing a user an ability to place sites into multiple categories and providing applications an ability to query a configuration for members of the categories. The approach not only may provide a user an ability to easily create, deploy, modify and monitor a multi-site enterprise hundreds and thousands of remote building management system site controllers and allow the user to establish each site within the context of a single enterprise group, but it may also incorporate where the site controllers can be identified, sorted or managed within multiple categorical groupings. For example, categorical groupings may facilitate managing the configurations at the sites, applying an operational setting by selecting a logical category, applying common operating parameters to multiple sites, and so forth.

Building management system site categories

A multisite version and upgrade management system for controllers. The system may have a supervisor and one or more site controllers managed by the supervisor. The site controllers may be subject to commissioning for another version, an upgrade of software or an upgrade of a configuration for a site controller. The commissioning and upgrades may be implemented by the supervisor for a large number of site controllers in a much shorter period of time in contrast to a previous approach implementing the same items in a one by one approach. With the present approach, a significant number of site controllers may be selected for implementation of the commissioning and upgrades according to groups and categories. The implementation for the number of site controllers may be executed as a job. Licensing needed for the implementation may be procured by the present system.

Multisite version and upgrade management system

An approach for control of users relative to access to controllers of a site in a hierarchy of controllers and building equipment. When a user of a customer has established a read write connection to a site controller, the customer does not necessarily want any subsequent user to establish a read write connection to the site controller or another controller within the same site and also make changes, for example, to settings of building equipment. Thus, a subsequent user may be allowed a read only connection and just be able to view building equipment information. When the first user has disconnected either intentionally or by inactivity, the site controller may be cleared allowing a subsequent user to obtain a read write connection. If the first user is inactive but fails to disconnect from the controller, an auto log-off provision may disconnect the user after a specified period of inactivity.

Supervisor user management system

A system and approach of importing data from site controllers as history imports with a history service by a supervisor in conjunction with a host processor. The history service may reconfigure the history imports to provide the history service virtually full control over the history imports. The history service may runs a history import cycle to ensure that virtually all enabled history imports are performed. The history service may establish a list of history imports to be processed at a beginning of the history import cycle. The history import cycle may query virtually all history imports in an order on a last success time of a history import operation where an oldest time is first on the list. The history service may ensure a maximum number of history imports are running by querying for a count of history imports of an in progress state.

Supervisor history service import manager

An approach for managing much information of many of controllers at multiple locations. A configuration map regarded as a dataset may be used for identifying and retrieving a group of data being sought in the form of instances of the dataset. The instances may be stored. A report may be used to select certain instances of the data according to a format of the report. The report may be manually or automatically provided. A profile may be developed to obtain instances of a dataset that match the profile and show instances that do not necessarily match the profile. The instances that do not match the profile may be reset to settings of the profile or be noted as approved exceptions and should not be reset.

Opus enterprise report system

An approach for selecting points of archived history data for viewing. The approach may relate to a user interface workflow of selecting points. Site controllers may be configured using control entity definitions, history extensions, point group naming and template features of a supervisor. The supervisor may provide for selection of groups or categories of sites and controllers within selected sites using selection boxes. This may permit a user to quickly refine site selection by, for example, filtering by group, site category, and a refined site list box. Once a site, the controllers and desired point groups and other appropriate items have been selected, the user may proceed to view historical data for the selected sites and controller points.
