An apparatus for removing moisture as liquid from moisture-laden air in an appliance is provided. The apparatus includes a body that defines a channel extending from a first position to a second position and a serpentine flow path between the first position and the second position that operates to redirect the moisture-laden air to remove the liquid from the moisture-laden air. The body includes an opening at the serpentine flow path that is closed when the apparatus is secured to the wall of the appliance. In operation, the body cooperates with the wall to cause the moisture-laden air entering the channel at the first position through an inlet opening in the wall to pass into the serpentine flow path to remove the liquid from the moisture-laden air before the liquid exits the channel at the second position through an outlet opening in the wall.

The present invention provides a pump plate () for conditioning the flow of a fluid before the fluid enters an inlet () of a circulation pump () of a dishwasher. The pump plate () may have a plate portion with a number of holes () dispersed across its surface such that fluid may flow through the holes (). The pump plate () may also include one or more upper guide vanes () extending outwardly from the plate portion and configured to reduce the turbulence in the fluid flow. A dishwasher () including a pump plate () and a method for manufacturing such a dishwasher are also provided. A dishwasher () that includes a pump plate () to condition the fluid flow within the dishwasher may be configured to function efficiently while requiring less water to complete a rinse or wash cycle than a dishwasher that does not include a pump plate.

Systems, methods, and apparatuses for providing a safety arrangement for an integrated heater, circulation pump, and motor for an appliance are provided. In an example safety arrangement, the circulation pump assembly includes a heater, a pump, and a motor integrated into a single unit. The circulation pump assembly defines a first end, a second opposite end, and a housing extending therebetween. The safety arrangement includes a hub configured to at least partially surround the first end of the circulation pump assembly and a first shield configured to at least partially surround the housing of the circulation pump assembly. The safety arrangement further includes a second shield configured to at least partially surround the housing of the circulation pump assembly. The hub, the first shield, and the second shield are configured to cooperate with one another to protect the circulation pump assembly from one or more hazardous conditions.

A dishwasher is provided, comprising a base portion adapted to support a tub portion. A control unit is configured to be in communication with at least one dishwasher operational component and with at least one control switch device remotely disposed with respect to the base portion. The control unit is responsive to the at least one control switch device to control the at least one dishwasher operational component. The control unit is disposed about the base portion and is selectively accessible from a forward side thereof. An associated method is also provided.

A lighting device mounting system for a dishwasher, and an associated apparatus and method, are provided, comprising a lighting device having a first portion disposed within a dishwasher tub portion and configured to emit light therefrom. The first portion has a larger lateral area than a receiving aperture defined by a tub wall of the tub portion. The lighting device includes a second portion engaged with the first portion, and adapted to extend through the receiving aperture. The second portion includes at least one laterally-extending flange extending laterally outward therefrom. A securing device having a medial hinge portion and an engageable locking mechanism associated with free opposing ends, is configured to interact with the second portion, opposite the tub wall from the first portion, and between the at least one laterally extending flange and the tub wall, so as to secure the lighting device to the tub wall.

Lighting device mounting system for household appliance, and associated apparatus and method

A dishwasher is provided, comprising a door pivotably engaged with a body and a counterbalance assembly coupled therebetween for facilitating pivoting of the door. The counterbalance assembly includes a first and second biasing member, each coupled to the body and serially engaged with a respective first and second flexible element coupled to the door. A guide member is secured to the body and includes a fixed arcuate member defining a first guide track, and a pulley rotatable about an axis and defining a second guide track. The first flexible element is at least partially wrapped about each of the fixed arcuate member and the pulley so as to serially engage the first and second guide tracks. The second flexible element is at least partially wrapped about a second side of the fixed arcuate member so as to engage the first guide track. An associated apparatus and method are also provided.

Counterbalance assembly for a dishwasher door and associated method

A dishwashing appliance console assembly and associated apparatus are provided. The console assembly comprises a control device arrangement, including a control actuator having an associated indicia, and a light emitting element that is de-actuated when the door assembly is in the closed position, and actuated when the door assembly is pivoted from the closed position. The light emitting element communicates with a light diffuser member, and the emitted light interacts therewith to illuminate the indicia associated with the control actuator. A console cover member at least partially covers the control device arrangement and facilitates interaction with the control actuator therethrough. The console cover member is configured such that the light from the diffuser member illuminating the indicia is non-specifically directed therethrough. The console cover member is substantially opaque when the light emitting element is de-actuated, and at least partially translucent when the light emitting element is actuated.

Console assembly for a dishwashing appliance, and associated apparatus

A dishwashing appliance is provided, comprising a door assembly defining opposed upper and lower ends. A console cover member is operably engaged with the upper end of the door assembly, and includes a first surface, and a second surface perpendicularly engaged therewith and extending therefrom. A switch assembly within the console cover member has at least one control actuator accessible through the first surface of the console cover member. A support member is configured to operably engage the second surface of the console cover member such that the switch assembly is disposed between the support member and the first surface. The support member is configured to bias the switch assembly toward the first surface so as to compress a gasket member between the first surface and the switch assembly to form a seal therebetween. An associated system and method is also provided.
