The present disclosure provides a coin counting and sorting module comprising: a coin sorter; a coin bowl having an inner surface comprising a rotating surface adapted for being rotated when the module is in operation; a coin sensor for detecting and removing counterfeit coins; a coin separating rail knife for receiving coins one by one; an inclined rail block; and an anti-bounce block rigidly fastened to the inclined rail block by a finite number of fastening elements. This disclosure also provides a coin handling apparatus comprising such a coin counting and sorting module.

The present disclosure relates to a coin sorter wherein a flexible rim () is used for engaging a coin () to be sorted and bring the coin in abutment with a circular border () of the coin sorter in a path across a plurality of circularly arranged coin openings.

A coin discriminating device has a first camera for producing a first image of a first surface of a coin, a second camera for producing a second image of a second surface of the coin, and a processor, e.g. a computer, which is operatively connected to the first and second cameras. The processor analyzes the first and second images in order to determine a type of the coin.

A non-horizontal conveyor for feeding objects has a conveyor belt, a first pulley at a first end forming a loading area of the conveyor, and a second pulley at a second end forming a feeding area of the conveyor. The conveyor also has a conveyor cover having an upper part and a lower part, wherein the upper part extends from the second pulley towards the first pulley, thereby covering a substantial part of the conveyor and preventing the objects from falling out of the conveyor during transport. The lower part is resiliently attached to the upper part adjacently to the first pulley, thereby preventing a plurality of objects from aggregating in the loading area at the first pulley. Furthermore, the conveyor cover has two symmetrical members rotationally attached to its lower part.

A coin handling apparatus for sorting and/or counting a plurality of coins (15a-h) has a circular sorting path with at least one off-sort station (6) and a rotatable carrier device (3) for transporting the coins along the circular sorting path. A coin packaging device has a table, to which a mass of coins of identical denomination may be supplied, and a plurality of cylinders, each cylinder being arranged to receive coins one by one through an open end, thereby stacking a predetermined number of coins thus received into a pile of coins. Furthermore, the device has means for distributing the coins across the table. The table is provided with a plurality of openings large enough for allowing the coins to pass therethrough. The open end of each respective cylinder is arranged to receive coins from a respective one of the openings in the table.
