A rollover protective structure for a mobile machine. The structure includes a base member, a plurality of lower post portions attached to the base member, and a plurality of upper post portions, each associated with a corresponding lower post portion. Each corresponding upper and lower post portion includes either a tapered portion extending out from an end or a hollow portion to receive the tapered portion. Each post portion having the hollow portion also includes a pair of inclined wedges attached to opposing sides of the post portion. The structure also includes a canopy attached to the upper post portions.

Rollover protective structure for a mobile machine

An apparatus and method for preparing a hydraulic work machine for towing in response to a dead engine condition. The apparatus includes a source of hydraulic fluid, a standby pump system hydraulically connected to the source, a plurality of pilot controls adapted for electrical activation by the standby pump system, and a hydraulic brake system. The apparatus also includes a supply valve connected to the pilot controls, and at least one lift cylinder connected to the supply valve and adapted to lift an implement on the work machine. The hydraulic brake system and the lift cylinder are enabled for hydraulic control in response to activation of the standby pump system.

Apparatus and method for preparing a hydraulic work machine for towing

A heavy duty belt laying work machine includes a frame, a driver wheel mounted in supporting relation to the frame on each lateral side thereof, an idler wheel assembly disposed on each lateral side of the frame. The idler wheel assembly includes an idler wheel and a carry-roller, each of which is rotatably connected to an idler support arm that is pivotally mounted in supporting relation to the frame. A mid-roller is disposed on each lateral side of the frame between the driver wheel and the idler wheel assembly and rotatably connected to a mid-roller support arm mounted in supporting relation to the frame. An endless, inextensible belt is entrained about each respective idler wheel and driver wheel on each lateral side of the frame and contacts the mid-roller and the carry-roller. Apparatus are provided for controllably tensioning and urging each belt into frictional driven engagement with a corresponding one of the driver wheels.

Backhoes are useful for digging trenches, ditches, etc. However, a performance deficiency caused by the formation of voids in the hydraulic control motor occurs sometimes if the swinging mass of the backhoe is abruptly stopped by quickly moving the directional control valve to the neutral position. The present invention provides a control circuit having a charging valve for communicating pressurized fluid from the supply conduit connected to the pump to charge the makeup valves with pump discharge fluid to minimize or avoid the formation of voids when the directional control valve is moved to the neutral position to stop the swinging movement of the backhoe mechanism.
