An end protector system for tubular goods including, but not necessarily limited to, drilling riser pipe. The end protector system utilizes lightweight substantially rigid, UV-stabilized molded plastic members that can quickly and easily cover box and pin end connections of drilling riser pipe, as well as ancillary conduit holes, bolt holes and/or other openings. The end protector system of the present invention can be used on tubular goods having an end connection flange, as well as those without an end connection flange, to block access to internal surfaces of the drilling riser components. The end protector system of the present invention further includes a retention system to ensure that individual end protectors remain in place during transportation and/or prolonged storage of such tubular goods.

The present invention is an apparatus of joined parts that allows the locking of a gate framed in vinyl parts to a stationary post made of vinyl. The stationary vinyl post is typically hollow with the walls of the post being typically of a thickness of no more than &#x215c;of an inch and the outer diameter of the gate framing and post typically ranging from 3&#xbd;inches by 3&#xbd;inches square to 5 inches by 5 inches square in size. The apparatus includes a kit where round or square or rectangular cups that have overlapping top flanges and are inserted into and fit snugly in holes drilled or cut into the sides of a hollow vinyl fence post. The cups are configured to accept the installation of standard home deadbolt locks. The lock of the present invention can be made of moldable materials such as plastics and metals and will use commonly available deadbolt locks snugly fitted together with other parts of the invented apparatus to form the invention and a system to use available standard deadbolt locks to lock and unlock fence gates.

A non-corrosive bore hole cover apparatus for plugging a hole bored in a substrate is provided comprising a top plate molded from a non-metallic material, a bottom plate molded from a non-metallic material, a compressible ring gasket sandwiched between the top and bottom plates, and a threaded bolt. A bottom side of the top plate and a top side of the bottom plate each have an annular gasket locating ridge formed thereon. The compressible ring gasket is sandwiched between the top plate and the bottom plate such that the gasket locating ridges are inserted in either end of the compressible ring gasket. The threaded bolt passes through a top plate hole such that a head of the bolt is retained against a top side of the top plate and a tail end of the bolt is threaded through a hole of the bottom plate. The bolt is rotated into the threaded hole to draw the top and bottom plates together to compress and circumferentially expand the gasket. The threads of the bottom plate are preferably provided by a winged t-nut insert. Reinforcement rib members are preferably provided on the top and bottom plates. The top plate preferably has a convex configuration. The gasket preferably has a plurality of longitudinal reinforcement ribs. The top side of the bottom plate preferably has a tapered bolt locating ridge formed about the bottom plate hole. The color of the top plate preferably matches the color of the surface of the substrate.

A length adjustable bar for mounting within a window opening to secure a protective panel therein includes a substantially hollow outer section having an inner section telescopingly received therein. A plurality of gear teeth are longitudinally disposed on the inner section. A cam is pivotally mounted to the outer section and includes gear teeth thereon that interengage the gear teeth on the inner section when the cam is rotated to a first position. The cam is rotated with a handle having an aperture thereon that aligns with apertures on a pair of spaced tabs when the cam is placed in the first position to receive a locking means to fix the bar at a select length. The design allows the bar to be extended to substantially the same length or width of the window opening. By pivoting the handle downwardly, the geared cam extends the inner section slightly to tightly wedge the bar within the opening.

Device for retaining a protective panel over a window

A piping system for conveying one or more product flow lines within an outer casing includes insulation members on the product flowline(s) to prevent heat lost and an improved spacer arrangement forming an interface between the product flow lines and the casing to prevent damage to the casing and flow lines as well as reduce friction when the flow lines are pulled through the casing. The insulation members includes a plurality of halves that can be assembled together circumferentially and end-to-end. In one embodiment, a frame carries a U-shaped insulation member that is polymeric and foam filled. The frame is ballasted so that it can be towed to a job site underwater yet buoyant and above the seabed, then lowered onto the pipeline by flooding the ballast tanks.

Insulated marine pipe apparatus and method of installation

A piping system for conveying one or more product flow lines within an outer casing includes a layer of insulation on each of the product flow lines to prevent heat lost and an improved spacer arrangement forming an interface between the product flow lines and the casing to prevent damage to the casing and flow lines as well as reduce friction when the flow lines are pulled through the casing. The spacer includes a pair of halves that can be assembled together using a bolted connection, for example, with flanges provided on the halves. An integral polymeric body comprises each of the halves with projecting portions spaced circumferentially about each of the spacers, the projecting portions extending longitudinally and radially and having inclined surfaces that lessen stress during the pulling of product flow lines through the outer casing. Annular shoulders on the spacer mate with corresponding annular shoulders of the insulation layer to prevent heat loss at the interface.

Pipe-in-a-pipe bundle apparatus

The method for controlling a blowmolding machine during a process of making an object is disclosed. The machine includes a die head, a mandrel and an extruder that rotates and drives a plastic material between the mandrel and the die head to form a plurality of elongated parisons. The method comprises setting the distance between the die head and the mandrel and the rotation speed of the extruder to accomplish predetermined target values of the weight of the object and parison velocity. Plastic material is fed to the machine and the extruder is operated to form the parisons. A parameter related to the viscosity or melt index of the plastic material in the extruder is detected and the material distribution function and the speed of the extruder are adjusted in response to the parameter so that object weight and velocity of the parisons made are maintained substantially at target values.
