A method includes receiving topic names from a metrology interface device, where the topic names correspond to data generated by metrology devices associated with a manufacturing operation. The method also includes accessing a data stream from the metrology interface device. The data stream includes converted metrology data (in a common format) from the metrology devices and corresponding topic names. The method further includes extracting first converted metrology data from the data stream based on a first topic name of the topic names. The first converted metrology data is generated by converting first metrology data from a first metrology device of the metrology devices to the first converted metrology data having the common format. The method also includes comparing the first converted metrology data to a specification, detecting a condition based on the comparison, and sending a command to a manufacturing device based on the condition.

Manufacturing device control based on metrology data

A method for assessing ergonomics of a human user in an environment is disclosed. The method includes generating a visual skeletal signal by using a visual sensor. The method further includes determining a first posture sample based on the skeletal signal, by using an electronic controller. The posture sample includes skeletal information including one or both of joint information and positioning information. The method further includes comparing the posture sample with an ergonomically ideal posture sample and determining an ergonomic report based on the comparing of the posture sample and the ergonomically ideal posture sample. The method further includes providing the ergonomic report via an output device.

Systems and methods for assessing ergonomics utilizing visual sensing

A computer receives a set of spatial coordinates from a motion-sensing input device, the spatial coordinates describing a position of at least one joint of a limb of a human model. The computer sends the set of spatial coordinates to a computer-aided design application, the computer-aided design application representing movements of the ergonomic manikin based on changes in limb angles described by a plurality of instances of angle data. The computer receives angle specifications from a computer-aided design application, the angle specifications corresponding to an angle of the limb in at least one three-dimensional plane. The computer converts the set of spatial coordinates to angle data in accordance with the received angle specifications, the angle data describing positioning of the limb.

Creating ergonomic manikin postures and controlling computer-aided design environments using natural user interfaces

Engineering requirements are defined in an electronic environment. In one embodiment, a method includes providing at least one of a set of master requirements and a set of version requirements to be applied to the electronic product definition, and referencing an electronic reference document from at least one of the set of master requirements and the set of version requirements, the electronic reference document including one or more particular engineering requirements to be applied to the electronic product definition. Alternately, a method includes defining a callout linked to the at least one of the set of master requirements and the set of version requirements, the callout being adapted to supersede a conflicting engineering requirement set forth in at least one of the set of master requirements and the set of version requirements.

Identification of engineering intent requirements in an electronic environment

A computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer program product for planning in a manufacturing process. In one embodiment, a library of standard manufacturing processes is created. The library comprises a plurality of master process objects. In response to generating a manufacturing project, a set of master process objects is selected from the plurality of master process objects in the library. The set of master process objects is associated with the manufacturing project to create a set of process usage objects within the manufacturing project. The set of master process objects in the library of standard manufacturing processes are linked to the manufacturing project without copying the set of master process objects into the manufacturing project. The set of usage process objects in the manufacturing project is populated with information specific to the manufacturing project.

A method is provided for generating a data product that allows for enhanced design, analysis and manufacture of a composite structure comprising a plurality of plies. The method comprises the steps of obtaining geometric ply definitions, inputting the geometric ply definitions into a computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software program to generate a numerically coded tool path definition containing centerline data for each tape or tow comprising a ply, programming tape or tow course shape definitions of a plurality of plies in CAM to produce actual ply definitions, using CAM to generate an accumulated dataset of actual ply definitions, using a customized software program to analyze the dataset to obtain a data product containing results relating to manufacturing implementation of the actual ply definitions, and using the customized software program to evaluate and visualize potential impact of the data product and to interrogate the data product.

The present invention is directed to systems and methods for compiling production and planning information. In one embodiment, a system for planning the production of a product includes at least one database configured to store engineering information related to the product, and further configured to store process information related to the product, and a processor coupled to the at least one database to combine selected information from the at least one database to generate a manufacturing planning document that defines the product. In another embodiment, a method of generating a manufacturing bill of material for a selected product includes compiling a process data structure from the process information, compiling a product data structure from the engineering information, and generating a manufacturing bill of material by combining the process data structure and the product data structure.
