A choke gate valve includes a housing that defines a fluid bore and a gate that includes a throttling orifice. The gate is configured to move within the housing between a throttle position in which the gate extends across the fluid bore to position the throttling orifice in the fluid bore to throttle a fluid flow through the fluid bore and an open position in which the gate does not block the fluid bore to enable a full level of the fluid flow through the fluid bore. The choke gate valve may be used as part of a choke gate valve system to transition between first fracturing operations for a first well and second fracturing operations for a second well without shut off of a pump.

Choke gate valve systems and methods

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a choke valve that includes a choke body, a choke trim disposed in the choke body, where the choke trim is configured to adjust a cross-sectional area of a flow path in the choke body to adjust a fluid flow through the choke valve, a needle of the choke trim disposed in the flow path of the fluid flow, where the needle includes a first portion having a superhard material, a seat of the choke trim, where the needle is configured to move along an axis extending through an opening of the seat to adjust the fluid flow through the choke valve.

Needle tip and seat for a choke valve

A seat assembly for a choke valve assembly includes a housing having an internal passage, in which the housing is formed from a non-superhard material. The seat assembly also includes a seat disposed within the internal passage of the housing. The seat is configured to engage a needle of the choke valve assembly while the choke valve assembly is in a closed state, and the seat is formed from a first superhard material. In addition, the seat assembly includes an annular insert disposed within the internal passage of the housing downstream from the seat. The annular insert is formed from a second superhard material, and a maximum cross-sectional area of the seat along a longitudinal axis of the seat assembly is greater than a maximum cross-sectional area of the annular insert along the longitudinal axis.

Choke valve assembly

A choke valve includes a choke body and a choke trim disposed within the choke body. The choke trim also includes an insert defining a plurality of positive beans and a plate defining an aperture. The plate is configured to contact and to rotate relative to the insert to cover and uncover the plurality of positive beans to adjust a fluid flow through the choke valve.

Adjustable erosion resistant choke valve

A hydrocarbon extraction system that includes an erosion control system. The erosion control system includes a housing defining a first inlet, a second inlet, and an outlet. The housing receives and directs a flow of a particulate laden fluid between the first inlet and the outlet. A conduit rests within the housing. The conduit changes a direction of the particulate laden fluid and reduces erosion of the housing. The conduit is inserted into the housing through the second inlet. The conduit defines a plurality of apertures between an exterior surface and an interior surface of the conduit. The apertures direct the fluid into a conduit cavity. The conduit guides the fluid entering the conduit cavity to the outlet. The erosion control system excludes a plug and/or a sleeve around or in the conduit.

Erosion control system

A disc for a multiple orifice valve includes a disc body and a disc orifice extending through the disc body. A disc surface of the disc body includes a recessed portion and a raised portion that at least partially circumferentially surrounds the recessed portion. The recessed portion is configured not to contact an opposed disc when the disc is assembled within a housing of the multiple orifice valve, and the raised portion is configured to contact the opposed disc when the disc is assembled within the housing of the multiple orifice valve.

A technique facilitates rapid transitioning of a valve, e.g. a gate valve. According to an embodiment, a system comprises a valve actuator constructed for coupling with a valve to actuate the valve between closed and open positions. Hydraulic actuation fluid may be supplied to the valve actuator under pressure via a hydraulic supply system to enable selective shifting of the valve actuator, and thus the valve, from a closed position to an open position. The system also comprises a dump tank coupled to the valve actuator in a manner to receive hydraulic fluid. In a rapid valve actuation operation, e.g. closing operation, the dump tank receives hydraulic fluid from the valve actuator rather than returning the hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic supply system. This, in turn, enables rapid shifting of the valve actuator and thus rapid shifting of the valve.

Quick closing valve system and methodology

A system includes a choke valve having a fluid inlet configured to receive a fluid at a first pressure and a fluid outlet configured to output the fluid at a second pressure. The choke valve also includes a fixed component and a movable component defining a throttling orifice between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet. Additionally, the movable component is configured to automatically move relative to the fixed component in response to a change in the first pressure to maintain a consistent percent pressure drop between the first pressure at the fluid inlet and the second pressure at the fluid outlet.

System for controlling fluid flow

A system includes a choke valve, an actuator configured to adjust a position of the choke valve, a variable frequency drive configured to adjust a speed at which the actuator adjusts the position of the choke valve, and a controller configured to receive first feedback indicative of a fluid pressure upstream of the choke valve, compare the first feedback to a first predetermined pressure range, and instruct the variable frequency drive to send electricity to the actuator at a first frequency when the first feedback is outside of the first predetermined pressure range, where the variable frequency drive is configured to control a speed and a direction of the actuator such that the actuator adjusts the position of the choke valve to a first position at a first speed, and where the first speed is based at least on a difference between the first feedback and the first predetermined pressure range.

Variable frequency drive for a fluid-handling system

A system includes a wellhead system, and a flow control system coupled to the wellhead system. The flow control system includes a housing with a flow path between an inlet and an outlet. The flow control system also includes a flow control device disposed in the housing along the flow path. The flow control system also includes a bonnet assembly surrounding the flow control device. The bonnet assembly is configured to selectively mount one of a manual actuator and a powered actuator to actuate the flow control device.
