A carbonless copy assembly made up of at least one CB sheet and one CF sheet, the CF sheet having a color developer resin coating of less than 0.39 pounds per ream. A process for making the carbonless copy paper assembly comprising the steps of: spraying a composition containing resin capable of developing microencapsulated dyes onto a base sheet to form a CF sheet, and combining that CF sheet with a CB sheet to form the carbonless copy paper assembly.

CF sheets

Dual shell microcapsule aggregate particles and copy materials coated therewith, such aggregate particles having inner shells surrounding chromogenic nucleus material, and outer shells encompassing multiple such inner shells to form aggregate particles thereof. The inner shells are derived from polar pre-polymer compositions. The outer shells are derived from complex colloids such as gelatin and gelatin derivatives. The outer shell material causes agglomeration of the inner shells into aggregate particles, thus increasing the sizes of the particles without increasing the sizes of the respective inner-shell microcapsules which contain the chromogenic material.

Microcapsules having improved printing and efficiency

A record member comprising a developer composition comprising a zinc-modified addition product of a phenol and a diolefinic alkylated or alkenylated cyclic hydrocarbon is disclosed. These addition products are particularly useful as color developers for basic chromogenic material.

A two-coat record sheet material is disclosed. This record sheet material comprises a base coat comprising an oil-soluble phenol-formaldehyde novolak resin and a topcoat comprising substantially nonreactant pigment material, but no color developer material. The nonreactive topcoat eliminates the accumulation of contaminants on the fuser roll of copier/duplicators produced by prior art record sheet material.
