A rigid barrier system includes a base piece and a face piece. The face piece may be configured to be to be mounted to the base piece, such that the face piece is laterally movable while mounted to the base piece in an unfixed mode. Alternatively or additionally, the rigid barrier system may include a steel floor plate resting on a base layer. A mass of the base layer may be at least ten times a mass of the face piece and the base piece.

Modular rigid barrier

A vehicle overhead audio system, an electromagnetic transducer assembly for use therein and a computer system programmed with a graphic software control for changing the audio system's signal level and delay are provided where a headliner of the vehicle is a loudspeaker of the system thereby replacing many other loudspeakers and being invisible to the occupants. The headliner is driven in multiple zones that effect proper imaging for all occupants. Supplemental high frequency and subwoofer speakers and signal processing circuitry are included in one aspect of the invention.

A vehicle display system includes a display which is selectively movable between a first position in which it is viewable by a driver and a second position in which it is viewable by the rear passengers but not the driver. In the first position, the display provides a rear view from a camera mounted at the rear of the vehicle. In the second position, the display provides entertainment to the passengers in the rear seats.

Rear view and multi-media system for vehicles

An electrical connector having a terminal blade that has two spaced legs between which a spring contact strip is received. An L-shaped tab extends from one leg to the other to lock the two legs together in a spaced relationship. The spring contact strip has locking tabs that are received in openings in the terminal blade to hold the contact strip in the blade. Lead in tabs and stops are provided on the contact strip to aid in assembly of the contact strip to the terminal blade.

Electrical terminal connector

A remotely controlled electrical accessory system for starting an engine of a vehicle and actuating a garage door opener attached to a garage door. The system includes a first transmitter for producing an engine ignition signal and a second transmitter for producing a garage door opener actuation signal. A receiver starts the engine of the vehicle and energizes the second transmitter to produce the garage door opener actuation signal in response to the engine ignition signal. In a preferred embodiment, the system includes a proximity sensor attached to the vehicle for producing a gating signal in response to a closed garage door. Preferably, the receiver starts the engine of the vehicle in response to the engine ignition signal and energizes the second transmitter to produce the garage door opener actuation signal in response to the engine ignition signal and the gating signal.

Integrated vehicle remote engine ignition system

A multi-switch control device is useful for controlling a variety of functions on a variety of vehicle subsystems or peripheral devices. The control device includes a specifically contoured base portion that enhances the usability of the device without distracting the vehicle operator from the task of driving. In one embodiment, a plurality of grooves are provided for receiving the fingers of the user of the device and a switch is provided within each groove that is readily usable by an individual regardless of the specific size of their fingers. Another embodiment includes a plurality of raised beads or grooves that provide a tactile indication of the position of the user's fingers on the device. The contoured portions also provide the ability of the user to make adjustments to a selected vehicle subsystem through conventional 'touch-pad' technology.

Multi-switch device for controlling vehicle subsystems

A graphical user interface system for use in a vehicle includes a series of selection switches and multi-purpose adjustment switches. The selection switches enable a user to choose a vehicle subsystem and a display screen instantaneously displays the subsystem and all adjustable functions associated with that system. The adjustment switches are utilized to adjust the functions of the subsystem to change the operation. The arrangement and selection of the adjustment switches and the display strategy enable a user to readily adjust all of the functions of a particular subsystem without having to page through various menu screens.
