A carrier patch for delivering agents locally to the skin or systemically via the skin. The patch comprises a pad having a lower surface area to which an adhesive is adhered, and a primary agent applied to discrete regions of the patch in a manner to minimize the deleterious effects of the adhesive on the primary agent. The invention further comprises a method for the discrete application of the agent to the patch, and a method of using the patch for the delivery of the agent to the skin.

Carrier patch for the delivery of agents to the skin

A dermatological patch for removing keratotic plugs from pores of the skin to improve the health and appearance of skin. The patch comprises a pad having a lower surface having a polymeric adhesive composition, which does not require premoisturization of the patch by the user to effect its operation. The patch can be of different shapes, formed of transparent, clear or colored material so as to enhance its cosmetic appearance on the skin, and contain additives to enhance the use of the patch for improving skin health.

Dermatological patch

A nasal dilator for preventing outer wall tissue of nasal passages of a nose from drawing in during breathing. There is an arcuate spring member for bridging a human nose, the spring member extending over the bridge and at least partly beyond the bridge on both sides of the bridge. An arcuate pad with an adhesive surface covers the spring member and extends around the spring member so that there is a perimeter of space formed between the spring member and the pad member. The spring is inset centrally in the pad. An adhesive between the spring member and the pad wholly connects the spring member on its entire engaging surface with the pad. The pad may include a protrusion to facilitate centralizing the dilator on the nose in use and there can be several overlapping release liners to facilitate use of the dilator.

Non-linear nasal dilator

A nasal dilator for preventing outer wall tissue of nasal passages of a nose from drawing in during breathing. There is a spring member for bridging a human nose, the spring member extending over the bridge and at least partly beyond the bridge on both sides of the bridge. A pad having a flexible section of lesser resilience than the spring, and with an adhesive surface covers the spring member and extends around the spring member so that there is a perimeter of space formed between the spring member and the pad member. The spring is inset centrally in the pad. An adhesive between the spring member and the pad wholly connects the spring member on its entire engaging surface with the pad. The edges of the pad can lift from the nose. The dilator can be formed of transparent or clear material so as to enhance its cosmetic appearance on the nose, and there can be printing on one or more members of the dilator. The dilator can be preset before use by establishing a contrary curvature, or the flexible pad can be stretched before adherence to the pad.

Nasal dilator

Transparent nasal dilator

There is a spring member for bridging a human nose, the spring member extending over the bridge and at least partly beyond the bridge on both sides of the bridge. A pad with an adhesive surface covers the spring member and extends around the spring member so that there is a perimeter of space formed between the spring member and the pad member. The dilator can be at least partly formed of transparent or clear material so as to enhance its cosmetic appearance on the nose. Ornamentation can be provided to one surface of the spring thereby to be visible through a transparent pad. Alternatively or additionally the pad can be imprinted with ornamentation.

Transparent external nasal dilator

A nasal dilator for preventing outer wall tissue of nasal passages of a nose from drawing in during breathing. There is a spring member for bridging a human nose, the spring member extending over the bridge and at least partly beyond the bridge on both sides of the bridge. A pad with an adhesive surface covers the spring member and extends around the spring member so that there is a perimeter of space formed between the spring member and the pad member. The spring is inset centrally in the pad. An adhesive between the spring member and the pad wholly connects the spring member on its entire engaging surface with the pad.

A sample of a cosmetic, such as a color, or a fragrance, is enclosed in a retaining cavity contained in a sampler. The sampler includes a base ply with a closure ply affixed to one side to cover a hole punched through the base ply to define the retaining cavity. A film ply is adhesively affixed to the other side of the base ply, also covering the punched hole, to thereby enclose the cosmetic in the retaining cavity. To use the sampler, the film ply is removed exposing the cosmetic. In a preferred embodiment, the sampler is made by punching a hole through a laminate formed of a base ply lying between a base ply adhesive and backing ply on one side and a liner adhesive and a liner ply on the other. The liner ply is removed and a closure ply affixed to the liner ply adhesive to form a retaining cavity. A cosmetic is then placed in the cavity. The backing ply is then removed, along with any residual cosmetic, and replaced by affixing a film ply to the base ply adhesive.

Sampler and method of making the same

A highly tacky continuous, generally self-sustaining film of pressure sensitive adhesive (formed by combining two pre-formed pressure sensitive adhesive films) without any imbedded supporting film uniquely useful for the bonding of two variably curved surfaces in superposed relationship, especially where said two surfaces are a natural fingernail and a superimposed plastic artificial fingernail, the minimum thickness of said film being at least 8 mils, the maximum thickness being about 12 mils, and the minimum initial adhesion to low energy plastic surfaces of said adhesive being at least 9 as defined by 3M Guide at page 16. In the method of mounting and adhering an artificial nail to a natural finger which includes the steps of: (1) providing an adhesive tab for covering a substantial portion of the area of the outside surface of the natural nail upon which it is desired to mount an artificial nail; (2) providing a superposed plastic artificial fingernail; (3) securing one side of said tab to the outer surface of said natural nail; or the inner surface of said artificial nail; (4) aligning and pressing said artificial nail, said tab, and said natural nail to adhere the artificial nail to the natural nail in superposed relationship; the improvement wherein the adhesive tab comprises: a highly tacky continuous, generally self-sustaining film of pressure sensitive adhesive without any imbedded supporting film uniquely useful for the bonding of two variably curved surfaces in superposed relationship, especially where said two surfaces are a natural fingernail and a superimposed plastic artificial fingernail, the minimum thickness of said film being at least 8 mils, and the minimum initial adhesion to low energy plastic surfaces of said adhesive being at least 9 as defined by 3M Guide at page 16, said self sustaining film being formed by combining two-pre-formed pressure sensitive adhesive films.
