A body structure of a motor vehicle includes two substantially parallel longitudinal reinforcing side members, a body side superstructure connected to the side members, rising above the side members and defining, on either side of the vehicle, two wheel arch housing portions of the vehicle. The two wheel arch housing portions are connected by a floor portion of the vehicle, offset vertically relative to the side members and positioned above the side members. The structure also includes at least one rear shock absorber attachment cup at each wheel arch housing portion. The at least one rear shock absorber attachment cup is assembled to the side superstructure, and assembled to a side member by a raising part connecting the cup and only a portion of the side member, having a width, measured in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle, substantially equal to that of the cup.

Body structure of a motor vehicle with reinforcements for distributing the forces linked to a rear shock absorber of the vehicle

The invention relates to a device for attaching an end of a cross-member of a driver's compartment of a motor vehicle to the assembled shell, which includes an attachment element provided with a first surface, for receiving the cross-member of a driver's compartment, and with a second surface opposite the first surface. Said device comprises first and second reinforcements extending from the second surface and each including: a base connected to the attachment element and to be attached to a portion of the vehicle, two side walls extending from the base and connected to the attachment element.

Device for attaching a cross-member of a driver's compartment of a motor vehicle

A motor vehicle structure includes two left and right bell-shaped suspension element supports arranged inside a front compartment close to a bulkhead of the vehicle. The suspension element supports are respectively adjacent to side walls of the front compartment. Each of the suspension element supports includes an internal face opposite the side wall. The structure also includes left and right spacers that extend respectively between the left and right suspension element supports and the rigid cross member, in a substantially longitudinal direction. The spacers are respectively anchored to the internal faces of the two suspension element supports. The spacers each have a skirt-shaped edge that can be applied to the suspension element supports, and a folded edge extending between a free end and an opposing attachment end to be joined to the cross member. The spacers include a central portion joining the folded edge and the skirt-shaped edge together.

Reinforced motor vehicle structure

A motor vehicle rear structure includes an underframe component for supporting a motor vehicle floor, an axle component including a central part and two lateral parts that define, with the central part, a space to accommodate a component of the vehicle, and a pivot member including a first pivot element and a second pivot element which are able to pivot relative to one another. The rear structure is arranged such that the first and second pivot elements pivot relative to one another about an axis that is substantially horizontal and substantially perpendicular to a direction of travel of the vehicle in a frame of reference of the motor vehicle, when the first and second pivot elements are thus fixed to the central part of the axle component and to the underframe component of the motor vehicle, respectively.

Rear structure of a motor vehicle

A body shell structure of a motor vehicle includes a side superstructure of the body shell defining on either side of the vehicle two recess portions for wheel arch housings of the vehicle connected by a floor of the vehicle. The body shell structure includes, in each of the two recess portions for wheel arch housing, a wheel arch housing part and at least one mount for attaching the rear shock absorber, assembled by edges thereof to each of the wheel arch housing parts. The wheel arch housing part defines at least one substantially oblique surface portion around and beyond the edges of the mount. The superstructure also includes a structural plate rigidly connected to an oblique surface portion of the wheel arch housing part and secured to a substantially vertical surface portion of the superstructure.

Motor vehicle bodyshell structure with reinforcements for distributing forces related to a rear shock absorber of the vehicle

A motor vehicle rear structure includes an underframe component to support a motor vehicle floor and in which a tunnel is formed, an axle component including a central part and two lateral parts that define a space to accommodate a component of the vehicle, an articulation device including a first articulation element and a second articulation element which are able to pivot relative to one another, and at least one front reinforcing element fixed to the second articulation element and to the tunnel. The rear structure is arranged in such a way that said at least one front reinforcing element allows at least some of a load in the direction of travel of the motor vehicle derived from the axle component to be transmitted to the tunnel.

A chassis of a motor vehicle optimized for absorbing a frontal impact. The chassis includes a firewall separating a passenger compartment of the vehicle from a front portion of the chassis configured to hold an engine, and a mechanism for absorbing a frontal impact including two side rails mounted on at least the front portion of the chassis and arranged on either side of the chassis, each side rail including a front portion and a rear portion assembled to overlap at least partially. The side rails are arranged such that an overlap area is below the plane of the firewall, and the rear portion of the side rail includes a material which is less compressible than the front portion of the side rail.

Each side rail includes one end mounted to engage with the front crossmember.
