A mixer assembly for a vehicle exhaust system includes a mixer shell defining an internal cavity, wherein the mixer shell includes an upstream end configured to receive exhaust gases and downstream end. A reactor is positioned within the internal cavity and has a reactor inlet configured to receive injected fluid and a reactor outlet that directs a mixture of exhaust gas and injected fluid into the internal cavity. A flow diverter is associated with the reactor to direct exhaust gas bypassing the reactor to mix with the mixture exiting the reactor outlet prior to exiting the downstream end of the mixer.

A vehicle exhaust system component, according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a housing defining an internal cavity to receive exhaust gases, at least one first catalyst received within the internal cavity, at least one filter positioned within the internal cavity downstream of the at least one first catalyst, and at least one second catalyst received within the internal cavity downstream of the at least one filter. A mixer has an inlet that receives exhaust gases exiting the at least one filter and an outlet that directs exhaust gases into the at least one second catalyst. One or more of the at least one first catalyst, the at least one second catalyst, and the at least one filter are serviceable.

A mixer assembly for a vehicle exhaust system includes a mixer shell defining an internal cavity, wherein the mixer shell includes an upstream end configured to receive exhaust gases and downstream end, and a reactor positioned within the internal cavity. The reactor has a reactor inlet configured to receive injected fluid and a reactor outlet that directs a mixture of exhaust gas and injected fluid into the internal cavity. An inlet baffle is mounted to the upstream end of the mixer shell. The inlet baffle includes at least one opening that directs exhaust gas into at least one exhaust gas inlet to the reactor and a plurality of bypass openings that direct exhaust gas to bypass entry into the reactor. The inlet baffle includes a crowned portion that curves away from the reactor to provide for an increased open area within the internal cavity between the inlet baffle and the reactor.

A vehicle exhaust system includes an exhaust gas aftertreatment component and an exhaust duct positioned downstream of the exhaust gas aftertreatment component. An inner wall is spaced radially inward of an inner surface of the outer housing to define a gap. The inner wall has an impingement side facing the axis and a non-impingement side facing the gap. At least one heat transfer element is positioned within the gap and in is contact with at least one of the inner surface of the outer housing and the non-impingement side of the inner wall to transfer heat through the inner wall to the impingement side to reduce spray deposit formation.

A vehicle exhaust system component assembly includes a first exhaust component defining a first center axis and a second exhaust component downstream of the first exhaust component and defining a second center axis that is spaced apart from and generally parallel to the first center axis.
