An in-vivo imaging device including a camera may include a frame storage device. Systems and methods which vary the frame capture rate of the camera and/or frame display rate of the display unit of in-vivo camera systems are discussed. The capture rate is varied based on for example, a physical quantity experienced by the camera system, or physical measurements related to the motion of the camera. Alternatively, the frame capture rate is varied based on comparative image processing of a plurality of frames. The frame display rate of the system may be varied based on comparative image processing of a multiplicity of frames. Both the frame capture and the frame display rates of such systems can be varied concurrently.

System and method for in-vivo imaging

An assembly for aligning an optical system over an image sensor is described. The assembly may include a lens structure positioned over an image sensor and a lens holder positioned over the lens structure and secured onto a substrate. The lens structure may incorporate an optical section and a structural section extending from the optical section and may rest directly on an image sensor with one or more stoppers that may serve to elevate the optical system with respect to the image sensor at a distance corresponding to a near optimal focal length distance. A lip also included in the structural section of the lens structure may abut two or more opposing sides to secure the lens structure over the image sensor in a centered position with respect to the image sensor.

Assembly and method for aligning an optical system

An in-vivo imaging device including a camera may include a frame storage device. Systems and methods which vary the frame capture rate of the camera and/or frame display rate of the display unit of in-vivo camera systems are discussed. The capture rate is varied based on physical measurements related to the motion of the camera. Alternatively, the frame capture rate is varied based on comparative image processing of a plurality of frames. The frame display rate of the system is varied based on comparative image processing of a multiplicity of frames. Both the frame capture and the frame display rates of such systems can be varied concurrently.

A lens holder assembly for aligning an optical system over an image sensor is described. The image sensor may be lying on a substrate. The assembly may include a lens holder aperture and at least one centering leg or protrusion which may be detached from the substrate and wherein the centering legs or protrusions may tightly abut or surround the image sensor in order to center the lens holder assembly with respect to the image sensor and to the optical system.

Assembly for aligning an optical system

The present invention relates to a method for activating an image collecting process, comprising the step of releasing the power source of a component essential to the image collecting process from an inhibition imposed by an external magnet. In an embodiment of the invention the image collecting process is designed to image the insides of a body lumen. The present invention further relates to a packaging suitable for storing therein an imaging system, said package comprising a magnet. The imaging system comprises components essential to an image collecting process, said components operable in accordance with the invention.
