Molded articles are disclosed having a complex three-dimensional shape. In one embodiment, the molded articles comprise tubular members formed through blow molding that have multiple linear sections separated by curved sections. The curved sections can include multiple angular displacements in multiple planes. The tubular members are molded from a polymer composition containing a high temperature polymer, such as a polymer having a melting point of greater than about 280&#xb0; C., such as greater than about 290&#xb0; C. In one embodiment, the tubular member includes at least three angular displacements of from about 60&#xb0; to about 120&#xb0;, such as from about 70&#xb0; to about 110&#xb0;.

High temperature conduit having a complex, three-dimensional configuration

Blow molded articles are made from a polymeric composition containing a mixture of polyphenylene sulfide resins. For instance, the polymeric composition may contain a linear polyphenylene sulfide resin combined with a branched polyphenylene sulfide resin. The composition can further contain a reinforcing agent, such as glass fibers, a polytetrafluoroethylene polymer, a polyphenylene oxide polymer, a silane coupling agent, and/or an impact modifier. Compositions made according to the present disclosure can have relatively high near zero shear rate melt strengths while also having high shear rate melt viscosities and high engineering stresses at a high percent elongations, making the compositions amenable to extrusion and molding processes. Compositions made according to the present disclosure are particularly well suited to molding articles with a complex shape. When producing blow molded articles, for instance, the composition provides better control over wall thickness while having improved interior surface smoothness at higher throughput and extrusion rates.

Fiber reinforced shaped articles and process for making same

Methods of making ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UMWPE) having increased strength and/or wear resistance, such as high yield strength, high tensile strength, high load strength, and/or high impact strength. Some embodiments include making UHMWPE having increased strength and/or wear resistance, such as that listed above, where the UHMWPE has co-monomers.

Sintering ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene

Articles made of and/or including ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UMWPE) having increased strength and/or wear resistance, such as high yield strength, high tensile strength, high load strength, and/or high impact strength. Some embodiments of articles made of and/or including UHMWPE having increased strength and/or wear resistance, such as that listed above, include UHMWPE having co-monomers.

Methods of producing ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene compositions of highly beneficial sintering characteristics are disclosed herein. Some embodiments provide for adding small amounts of a co-monomer to the polyethylene to improve various characteristics, including wear resistance.

Ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene compositions of highly beneficial sintering characteristics are disclosed and methods for making and processing same. Additionally, products comprising these compositions are described.

This invention in one aspect is a polyoxymethylene compound exhibiting an improved balance of properties and volume resistivity of 10-10ohm-cm, which comprises polyoxymethylene, polyethylene glycol, metal oxide, high-structure carbon black and a comb polymer. The invention is more particularly directed to a polyoxymethylene compounds and molded articles therefrom in which the compound comprises 30 to 98.7% by weight of a polyoxymethylene homopolymer or copolymer, from 0.1 to 10% by weight of a polyalkylene glycol, from 0.1 to 10% by weight of metal oxide, from 1% to 15% of a high structured particulate carbon black, and from 0.1 to 15% by weight of a comb polymer containing a relatively less polar backbone with relatively more polar side chains.
