A multiphase electric motor system and a method for controlling a multiphase electric motor system are disclosed. The method for controlling the multiphase electric motor system includes modulating a plurality of carrier signals with a plurality of modulation signals in order to generate a multiphase motor supply signal having a modulated phase signal for each phase of the electric motor. A set of time windows is defined in each period of the multiphase motor supply signal, where an individually selected group of modulated phase signals is modified by delaying the associated carrier signal in each time window, thereby generating a shifted multiphase motor supply signal and providing an efficient DC bus ripple reduction. Hereby, it is e.g. possible to use small filter capacitors/capacitor banks in electrical motor systems. An analogous multiphase electric generator system and method for controlling a multiphase electric generator system are disclosed.

DC bus ripple elimination for multiphase electric machines

The invention relates to a yarn processing system comprising a textile machine and at least one yarn feeding device, which are assigned to the peripheral auxiliary devices wherein the yarn feeding device has a computerised control device that is connected by signal transmission to the auxiliary device. At least certain auxiliary devices have at least one component configured in such a way that they generate and/or receive signals. The yarn feeding device has at least one local, autonomous communication bus system for the transmission of serial data at least from and/or to the auxiliary devices, said bus system being connected to the control device.

Yarn processing system and yarn feeding device

A device for supplying energy by means of a first DC voltage source e.g. in the form of a DC voltage bus, a drive system comprising several electric motors is connected to said DC voltage bus. The electric motors are comprised e.g. in a number of yarn feeding devices co-acting with a weft insertion system in a shuttleless weaving machine for producing a woven fabric having a multi-colour pattern. The electric motors operate with energy consumption function phases (start and acceleration) and with energy generating function phases (deceleration or braking). The first DC voltage source is associated with at least one second DC voltage source via a variable voltage converter. During operation of the electric motors DC voltage and/or current parameters are detected and used to control the voltage converter to produce an energy flow from the first to the second DC voltage sources during an energy generation function phase, or from the second to the first DC voltages sources during an energy consumption function phase. By said energy flows an evening-out of the voltage variations at the first DC voltage source is achieved. The second DC voltage source comprises capacitors defining an active energy buffer.
