Devices and methods used to obtain a core tissue samples are disclosed. The devices may be configured to drill into cortical bone and saw a hole into a bone lesion and/or bone marrow while obtaining the core tissue sample. The devices can include a motor and a transmission configured to rotate a trocar having a tip configured for drilling and an outer coax cannula having a cutting tip configured for sawing.

Bone biopsy device and related methods

A biopsy needle device is disclosed. The biopsy needle device may be configured to be advanced to a predetermined tissue sample, collect and sever the tissue sample utilizing an actuator comprising a linear displacement mechanism, and extract the tissue sample from a body tissue of a patient.

A thrombosis macerating and aspiration device for macerating and aspirating blood clots and blockages in a blood vessel is disclosed. In some embodiments, the macerating element of the device rotates and creates a partial vacuum to assist in the aspiration of the blood clot of blockage. The macerating element may have a variety of different designs and shapes and in some embodiments, the macerating element is expandable.

A medical device for accessing body tissue or fluid is disclosed. The medical device may include an introducer sheath and a valve that impedes the flow of fluid through the introducer sheath. An assembly for selectively coupling components of a medical device is also disclosed. The assembly may comprise two components configured to engage with one another by at least a snap fit-type connection. This connection may facilitate disengagement of the two components via actuation of a release mechanism.

Medical containers are provided, wherein the containers may be used to transport medical devices. The medical container can include a front panel, a rear panel, and a lower panel cooperating to form a cavity. The lower panel may include an absorbent material. The medical container may also include one or more absorbent band members disposed around at least a portion of the circumference of the cavity. An insert portion including a front panel, a rear panel, and a lower panel may be coupled to or disposed within the medical container. The insert portion may be formed from an absorbent material. A biopsy needle assembly configured for use with a tissue biopsy device is disclosed. The biopsy needle assembly may be configured to be advanced to a predetermined tissue sample, sever the tissue sample, and extract the tissue sample from a body tissue of a patient. The biopsy needle assembly may be further configured to minimize or eliminate the length of dead space at or adjacent a position of the tissue sample extraction.

Flush cut biopsy needle assembly and method of use

A valved connector configured to control the leakage of bodily fluid from within a patient. The valved connector including a seal positioned within a lumen of the body of the valved connector. The distal end of the valved connector is adapted to permit access to, or coupling of an apparatus. A proximal end is adapted to be threadably coupled to a secondary device. The needless connector valve being configured to be openable by a dilator or post of an apparatus which is connected to the proximal end of the needleless connector. In the event that a luer coupler or other secondary apparatus is not available, a needle, cannula, trocar, or other instrument can be threaded through the main lumen of the valved connector opening the valve and allowing the passage of fluid directly through the needle, trocar, cannula, or other instrument.

Valved connector

A medical needle shield apparatus is provided that includes a needle hub having a needle cannula extending therefrom. At least one shield is extensible from a retracted position to an extended position to enclose a distal end of the needle. The shield includes a binding member disposed within the shield and defines binding surfaces that form an aperture configured for slidable receipt of the inner needle. The binding member includes at least one drag inducing member that engages the inner needle during slidable receipt to create a drag force. The drag force facilitates rotation of the binding member such that the binding surfaces engage the inner needle to prevent slidable movement. The shield and/or hub includes a retention element engageable between the shield and hub and a sheath retention element. The hub includes a magnifier for viewing fluid flashback.

Safety shield for medical needles

A filter, configured to be disposed within a body lumen, such as within the vasculature. The filter may include a plurality of struts, configured to interact with the body lumen wall in order to stabilize the position of the filter and to create a filtering structure. Each strut may have two or more apexes configured to contact the body lumen wall. In some embodiments the filter may be integrally formed form a single tube of material.
