The present disclosure provides a cleaning system and various related apparatus for grooming a pet. The cleaning system can comprise components dedicated to pet grooming or can adapt a surface cleaning apparatus or tools normally used for cleaning floors and upholstery to instead groom a pet. The pet grooming system can include a portable module, a fluid delivery system, and a recovery system. The recovery system can include a recovery pathway, a recovery tank, and a suction source. An enclosure for the suction source eliminates a direct, unobstructed path for soundwaves exiting the enclosure and at least one other opening where air enters or exits the portable module.

A surface cleaning apparatus includes a steam delivery system, a liquid delivery system, and a recovery system. The steam delivery system may include a steam dispenser having one outlet to dispense steam toward the surface to be cleaned and another outlet to dispense steam away from the surface to be cleaned as visible steam vapor. The apparatus may have multiple cleaning modes, including a mode where liquid is dispensed and a mode where liquid and steam are dispensed. Methods for operating a surface cleaning apparatus and for self-cleaning a surface cleaning apparatus are also provided.

The pet grooming system can comprise components dedicated to pet grooming or can adapt a surface cleaning apparatus or tools normally used for cleaning floors and upholstery to instead groom a pet. The pet grooming system can include a hand tool coupled with a portable module via a conduit assembly, at least a portion of which may be in the form of a flexible hose. A plurality of pet grooming attachments are provided, and the hand tool can concurrently mount a grooming comb and a sprayer attachment to groom a pet.
