A golf club head comprising two components, wherein the first component comprise a ball striking surface, a striking face return, and a sole extension with a rear mass. And wherein the second component comprises a lower density material, comprising part of the crown and part of the sole. The first component comprises a majority of the mass of the golf club head, having a rear mass comprising 20% to 35% of the mass of the golf club head.

A golf club head includes a club body having a crown opposite a sole, a toe end opposite a heel end, a back end, and a hosel. The golf club head also includes an adjustable weighting system positioned on the club body, the adjustable weighting system includes a single channel and a member that is received by the single channel and fastened to the club body, where a plurality of weights are coupled to the member. The golf club head can additionally or alternatively include a face angle adjustment system positioned on the sole, the face angle adjustment system includes a member that is removably received by the single channel and fastened to the sole, the member includes a first end member and a second end member, wherein the member is configured to be repositioned within the channel to adjust a resting face angle of the golf club head.

Disclosed herein is a hollow golf club head comprising a first component adhered to a second component. The first component comprises: a crown return and a sole return extending rearwardly from the strikeface, a sole extension extending rearwardly from the sole return and forming a portion of the sole, a back rail connected to the sole extension, a skirt connected to the back rail, and a rib positioned on an interior surface of the golf club head. The crown return forms a portion of the crown. The sole return forms a portion of the sole. The rib comprises a lower front end point, a lower rear end point, an upper rear end point, a bottom edge and a top edge. The rib height varies between the lower front end point and the lower rear end point. The rib extends from channel configured to receive a weight portion, to the crown.

Embodiments of golf club heads having adjustable weighting systems with a plurality of discrete attachment locations capable of receiving one or more weights are described herein. The golf club heads described herein provide user adjustability of club head center of gravity to adjust ball flight while maintaining a high moment of inertia and low and back center of gravity position.

Adjustable weight club head

A golf club head includes a front body and a rear body coupled to the front body to define a hollow cavity therebetween. The front body includes a strike face that defines a ball striking surface, a hosel, and a frame that at least partially surrounds the strikeface and extends rearward from a perimeter of the strikeface away from the ball striking surface. The strike face and frame are formed from a thermoplastic composite comprising a thermoplastic polymer having a plurality of discontinuous fibers embedded therein. Each of the plurality of discontinuous fibers have a length between about 0.01 mm and 3 mm. In some embodiments, the thermoplastic composite is 30% to 70% fibers by volume.

Golf club heads comprising a thermoplastic composite material

Embodiments of an iron type golf club head with a flex structure, a face reinforcing structure, and a variable face thickness to increase face element bending while improving club head durability are described herein. The club head comprises a face element for striking a golf ball. The face element is formed integrally with the flex structure. The flex structure comprises a curved profile (e.g. S-shape or sinusoidal) that functions like a spring to support the face element during golf ball impacts. The face reinforcing structure comprises a looped rib that provides support around a center of the face element. The variable face thickness includes thickened and thinned regions to provide further face element bending or support. The combination of the flex structure, the face reinforcing structure, and the variable face thickness provides increased face element bending while improving club head durability.

A golf club head includes a rear body having a crown member coupled to a sole member, and a front body coupled to the rear body to define a substantially hollow structure. The front body includes a strike face and a surrounding frame that extends rearward from a perimeter of the strike face. At least a portion of an outer wall of the club head comprises a thermoplastic composite having a plurality of lamina layers. The plurality of lamina layers include at least a fabric reinforced thermoplastic composite layer and a filled thermoplastic layer, and the fabric reinforced thermoplastic composite layer and the filled thermoplastic layer are directly bonded to each other without an intermediate adhesive.

Mixed material golf club head

Embodiments of a golf club head comprising a first component and a second component that are coupled together to enclose a hollow interior are disclosed herein. The first component comprises at least a striking face, a striking face return, and a rear extension. In some embodiments, the first component also comprises a weight channel at a rear end and one or more braces that attach to the striking face return and the rear extension. The second component comprises a crown portion, a sole toe portion, and a sole heel portion. The density of the second component is less than the density of the first component. In some embodiments, the first component mass is 85% to 96% of a mass of the golf club head.

The first component comprises a crown return extending rearwardly from a strikeface and forming a portion of a crown; a sole return extending rearwardly from the strikeface and forming a portion of a sole; a sole extension extending rearwardly from the sole return; and a back rail connected to the sole sections. The back rail comprises a top wall, a rear wall, and a lip, which together define a channel extending along the back rail in a heel to toe direction. The second component comprises a heel side wing and a toe side wing that extend from the crown to the sole around a heel end of the club head. The channel is configured to receive a weight portion. The first component comprises a majority of the overall mass of the golf club head.

A golf club head includes a front body and a rear body coupled to the front body to define a hollow cavity therebetween. The front body includes a strike face that defines a ball striking surface, a hosel, and a frame that at least partially surrounds the strikeface and extends rearward from a perimeter of the strikeface away from the ball striking surface. The strike face and frame are formed from a thermoplastic composite comprising a thermoplastic polymer having a plurality of discontinuous fibers embedded therein. Each of the plurality of discontinuous fibers have a length of less than about 40 mm. The specific gravity of the thermoplastic can range between 1.0 and 2.0. In some embodiments, the thermoplastic composite is 20% to 70% fibers by volume.

A golf club head includes a rear body having a crown member coupled to a sole member, and a front body coupled to the rear body to define a substantially hollow structure. The front body includes a strike face and a surrounding frame that extends rearward from a perimeter of the strike face. The front body further includes a fabric reinforced thermoplastic composite layer and a filled thermoplastic layer each extending across the entire strike face. The fabric reinforced thermoplastic composite layer and the filled thermoplastic layer each comprise a common thermoplastic resin component, and are directly bonded to each other without an intermediate adhesive.
