A baler implement includes a baler controller configured to determine an unstretched length of wrap material dispensed by a wrap system during a wrap cycle, and determine a circumference of a bale in a baling chamber. The baler controller may then determine a stretched length of the wrap material as applied onto the bale during the wrap cycle from the circumference of the bale and a number of wrap layers of the wrap material wrapped around the circumference of the bale. The baler controller may then compare the stretched length of the wrap material as applied onto the bale to the unstretched length of the wrap material dispensed by the wrap system during the wrap cycle to determine an applied wrap stretch factor. The applied wrap stretch factor may be communicated to an operator, or used to control the wrap system to achieve a desired wrap stretch.

A supply roll for a wrap system of a baler implement includes a core having a circumferential wall surface forming a cylindrical shape concentric with a central longitudinal axis. A wrap material includes a length wound about the circumferential wall surface of the core, and defines an exterior circumference. The core and the wrap material cooperate to define a combined center of gravity. An axial position identifier is disposed on the exterior circumference of the wrap material, and is positioned relative to the combined center of gravity to define a desired lift location.

A baler implement includes a baling chamber. A wrap system wraps a wrap material around a bale within the baling chamber. A wrap sensor detects data related to a position of a tail end of the wrap material on the bale. A bale transfer device pushes the bale away during ejection from the baler implement. A baler controller determines a position of the tail end of the wrap material on the bale within the baling chamber, and initiates the ejection sequence to eject the bale onto a ground surface. The baler controller controls the bale transfer device based on the position of the tail end of the wrap material, such that the bale comes to rest with at least a minimum length of the wrap material extending between the tail end of the wrap material and a ground contact location disposed nearest the tail end of the wrap material.

A lift system for a baler implement includes a hanger including a hanger body defining a first aperture and a second aperture. The first aperture is positioned such that a center of gravity of the hanger body is located within the first aperture. The second aperture is positioned vertically below the first aperture. A lift line includes an upper end portion secured to a line actuator, and a lower end portion supporting the hanger. The lower end portion of the lift line is routed through the first aperture and the second aperture and is secured relative to the hanger such that the lift line applies a lift force to the hanger body at the center of gravity of the hanger body. The hanger includes a first pocket and a second pocket at respective ends of the hanger body shaped to capture respective lifting bands on a roll of wrap material.

A method of controlling a wrap system of a round baler includes determining a current characteristic of a supply roll of wrap material related to a current weight of the supply roll, and controlling rotation of a pair of spool rollers based on the current characteristic of the supply roll. As the current characteristic indicates a decrease in weight, the rotation of the pair of spool rollers is controlled to achieve a desired acceleration rate of the spool rollers, such that a leading edge of the wrap material is ejected from a nip formed between the pair of spool rollers at an ejection trajectory that is within an allowable angular range relative to a tangent of the nip, so that the leading edge of the wrap material passes through an access and into a baling chamber of the round baler.

An agricultural material baling system comprises, in one example, a bale forming component configured to form a bale of agricultural material from a terrain, and a control system configured to determine that the bale is to be released from the baling system onto the terrain, determine that a current location of the baling system has a slope above a threshold, determine a different location, that is spaced apart from the current location, for releasing the bale onto the terrain, and provide an output indicative of the different location. In one example, the control system is configured to receive yield data indicative of a volume of agricultural material in a path of the baler and to control the baling system based on the yield data. In one example, the yield data is obtained from a raking operation that rakes the agricultural material into a windrow.

A crop-package transfer system has a flexible member supported by a support frame and is configured to support a crop package on a first side of the flexible member. A motive member is disposed on a second side of the flexible member. An actuator device is configured to move the motive member along the second side of the flexible member, such that the motive member transmits motive force from the actuator device to the crop package via the flexible member.

A bale collection system and method for receiving and storing a bale. The bale collection system including a baler having a rear aperture through which a bale may be ejected, a trough defining a storage bay sized to receive one or more bales therein, where the trough is coupled to the baler and movable with respect thereto between a first position, where no bale is positioned within the storage bay, and a second position where a bale is at least partially positioned within the storage bay, and where the first position is different than the second position. The bale collection system also includes a resistance element operatively coupled to the frame and configured to at least partially control the movement of the frame between the first and second positions.

A bale wrapping mechanism for feeding bale surface wrapping material to an inlet of a baling chamber containing a bale to be wrapped includes a support arrangement for supporting a plurality of wrapping material supply rolls disposed with their adjacent ends either overlapping each other or disposed in axially aligned or end-to-end relationship with each other. In the case of overlapping ends, the adjacent runs of material respectively emanating from the plurality of supply rolls overlap each other and are applied to the circumference of a bale being wrapped in an overlapped arrangement. In the case of axially aligned supply rolls and when the wrapping material is a spreadable net material, a material spreading arrangement is located between the supply rolls and an inlet to the baling chamber and acts to spread the net so that adjacent runs of wrapping material respectively emanating from the plurality of material supply rolls overlap each other and remain overlapped as they are applied to the bale.

A large cylindrical baler is equipped with a bale control device coupled to fixed forward side wall sections of the baling chamber and being selectively operated such that front and rear bale control members of the device are respectively located behind and forward of a space into which a completed bale may be discharged, with the rear bale control member engaging a discharged bale so as to halt the rolling inertia imparted to the bale during discharge, the front and rear bale control members thus cooperating for locating the bale at rest. Once the bale is at rest, the rear bale control member is moved to a bale-clearing position wherein the rear bale control member may move forwardly relative to the bale without coming into contact with the bale.

A baler for making large cylindrical bales is equipped with a device for controlling the placement of a bale after it is discharged. The bale control device is coupled to fixed forward side wall sections of the baling chamber and is selectively operated such that front and rear bale control members of the device are respectively located behind and forward of a space into which a completed bale may be discharged. Thereafter, the bale control members are moved to the rear in to a location wherein the front bale control member holds the discharged bale to the rear of a path traced by the discharge gate when it swings between a raised discharge position and a lowered baling position. The rear bale control member engages a discharged bale so as to halt the rolling inertia imparted to the bale during discharge, the front and rear bale control members thus cooperating for locating the bale at rest. Once the bale is at rest, the rear bale control member is moved to a bale-clearing position wherein the rear bale control member may move forwardly relative to the bale without coming into contact with the bale.

A large round baler includes a crop pick-up having a tined reel for lifting a windrow of crop to a secondary feeder which moves the crop into the baling chamber. Crop feeding is aided by an integrated crop baffle and hold-down assembly suspended from the baler frame for vertical floating movement by a trailing four-bar linkage arrangement. The baffle is located ahead of the pick-up tine reel, and the compressor rods extending rearwardly over the reel from a location close to an upper rear region of the baffle to a region beneath a bale starter roll. The linkage arrangement controls the movement of the integrated crop baffle and hold-down assembly such that the assembly quickly adjusts to varying windrow thickness, and so that interference between the starter roll and the rear sections of the crop hold-down compressor is avoided.
