An injection device is disclosed which comprises a housing () for a plurality of cartridges () each containing a medicament to be administered to a patient. A plurality of needles () may be provided in communication with the plurality of cartridges. A delivery mechanism is arranged to deliver medicament through the plurality of cartridges via the plurality of needles. An injection device may comprise a drive member () having a cam surface () configured to engage a surface of a carrier () and rotate the carrier about a pivot () and at least one plunger () arranged to engage a cylinder in the cartridge.

Spring driven injector apparatus with needle insertion

A lancing device includes a lancet body () of elongate form and having a sharp tip () at the forward end thereof; a drive spring () for imparting generally longitudinal movement to the lancet body, and a housing () receiving the lancet body and having an aperture () in the forward end thereof through which the sharp tip () of the lancet body projects in use when the device is fired. The device includes elements () for controlling movement of the lancet body () to cause the tip of the lancet to execute a lateral movement when it projects from the aperture.

Lancing device

A substance delivery device (autoinjector) for use with a container (such as a syringe) containing the substance includes: a body arranged to house or hold the container; a plunger which is movable with respect to at least a portion of the body, the plunger being arranged to act upon the container so as to move the container with respect to the portion of the body; wherein the plunger is also arranged to expel at least a portion of the substance from the container; and wherein the device includes elements for adjusting the amount of substance to be expelled from the container. The device can also have elements for priming the container, and can accommodate containers of different size or shape.

Substance delivery devices

An injection device includes an elongate housing (), a syringe () disposed in the housing, and an internal piston () to express a dose from a needle () at its front end. The injection device further includes a shroud element () movable forwardly relative to the syringe to shroud the needle after use and a latch () movable between a latched state in which it restricts rearward movement of the shroud element, and a release state. The latch is moved to its latch state by a magnetic force ().

Injection devices

An injection apparatus includes a counter wheel that is incremented by the dose delivery mechanism each time the device is fired. The apparatus includes a final dose disabling mechanism that prevents further usage once the final dose has been delivered. An anti-tamper feature is provided to prevent inadvertent or premature initialisation of the apparatus.

An injection device operable to deliver a dose of medicament from a syringe or cartridge includes a temperature-sensitive arrangement for inhibiting operation thereof under predetermined temperature conditions. This may include a thermally responsive element that adopts a position in which operation of the device is inhibited when a temperature level is passed.

An injection device includes an elongate housing (); a syringe () disposed in the housing and having an internal piston () to express a dose from a needle () at its front end; a trigger device () for, in use, activating the internal piston, and a cap () that, in a fitted configuration, fits over at least part of the elongate housing and prevents activation of the trigger device.

An automatic injection device for providing a subcutaneous injection is disclosed. The device includes a syringe movably disposed in a housing and including a barrel portion, a needle and a bung for sealing the barrel portion. The device includes a plunger for moving the syringe towards a first open end of the housing such that the needle projects from the first end, and for subsequently applying pressure to the bung. The plunger includes a rod connected at a first end to the bung, a compressible expanded central portion, and a flange between a second end of the rod and the central portion. The device also includes a biasing mechanism for biasing the plunger towards the first open end of the housing, the biasing mechanism disposed about the second end of the rod between the flange and a second end of the housing.

Automatic injection device

A needle shield arrangement for a syringe (), having a generally cylindrical body with a needle () at its forward end, includes a shield portion () adapted for shielding the needle (); a syringe engaging portion () for engagement with the syringe body, and a frangible connecting portion () connecting the shield portion and the syringe engagement portion.

Needle shield arrangement

A method for treating a disorder using an automatic injection device is disclosed. The device includes a syringe movably disposed in a housing and including a barrel portion, a needle and a bung for sealing the barrel portion. The device includes a syringe actuation component for moving the syringe towards a first open end of the housing such that the needle projects from the first end, and for subsequently applying pressure to the bung. The syringe actuation component includes a pressurizer, a rod comprising a compressible portion projecting therefrom, and a flange between a second end of the rod and the compressible portion. The device also includes a biasing mechanism for biasing the syringe actuation component towards the first open end of the housing, the biasing mechanism disposed about the second end of the rod between the flange and a second end of the housing.

An injection device includes a multi-use drive assemblyand a single use disposable syringe assemblyreleasably connected thereto. The syringe assembly includes a syringeand a shieldmounted for telescopic movement. The drive assemblyis operable to extend the syringerelative to the shieldand then to express a dose. Continued forward drive movement extends the shieldto re-cover the syringe needleand then ejects the spent syringe assemblyin a safe (shrouded) condition.

A pen needle or pen needle cap assembly is designed to be manually attached e.g. by screwing onto an injection device, and is provided with a gripping region designed to allow the torque that can be applied in the tightening sense to be less than that which can be applied in the loosening sense.

Pen needles and needle cap assemblies

A pen-type injector for receiving a medication containing member. The injector comprises a housingand a torsion springcontained within the housing and coupled to a drive member. A dose setting knobis coupled to the spring, and rotatably coupled to the housingsuch that rotation of the knob relative to the housing in a first direction results in compression or twisting of the spring. A user actuable triggeris provided for releasing the springto push the drive memberthrough the housing. A user actuable buttonis coupled to the housingfor axial motion relative thereto, said buttonbeing coupled to the torsion springto cause the spring to unwind or expand in discrete steps with each press of the button.

Injection method and apparatus

An autoinjector includes front and rear separable housing parts. These are connected by a rotary coupling action such as by bayonet coupling and the relative rotation action turns a needle shieldfrom a locked position in which it is both locked against longitudinal movement and acts as a shutter obscuring the contents of the syringe to an open position where the contents of the syringe are visible and the shield portion is freed for longitudinal movement. Connecting and securing the rear portionon the front portiontherefore unlocks the needle shieldfor operation. On completion of an injection, uncoupling of the front and rear portions returns the needle shieldto its locked position so the front portion may be disposed of safely.
