A controller () for a vehicle, the vehicle comprising an imaging device for generating image data and the imaging device further comprising an imaging accelerometer () for generating imaging accelerometer data for determining the orientation of the imaging device relative to the vehicle, the controller () comprising: an input for receiving a signal indicative of the imaging accelerometer data and the generated image data; a processor arranged to identify alignment artefacts in the received image data in dependence on the received imaging device imaging accelerometer data; and an output for outputting an error signal in dependence on the identified alignment artefacts.

Controller for a vehicle

The present disclosure relates to a display system () for generating a composite view of a region behind a vehicle (V) towing a trailer (T). A first camera (C) is provided for outputting first image data corresponding to a first image (IMG), the first camera (C) being configured to be mounted in a rear-facing orientation to the vehicle (V). A second camera (C) is provided for outputting second image data corresponding to a second image (IMG), the second camera (C) being configured to be mounted in a rear-facing orientation to the trailer (T). An image processor () receives the first image data and said second image data. The image processor () is configured to combine said first image data and said second image data to generate composite image data corresponding to a composite image (IMG). The present disclosure also relates to a corresponding method of generating a composite image (IMG), and to a rig made up of a vehicle (V) and a trailer (T).

Display system and method

The present disclosure relates to a controller () for controlling an electric machine () to drive a wheel () of a vehicle (). The controller () includes a processor () configured to determine an effective torque (T). A speed demand signal () for controlling the wheel speed is output by the processor (). The processor is configured to detect changes in the effective torque (T) as the wheel speed (S) changes and to modify the speed demand signal () in dependence on the detected changes in the effective torque (T). The processor () may determine a derivative (dT/dS) of the effective torque (T) with respect to the wheel speed (S). The present disclosure also relates to a method of controlling an electric machine () to drive a wheel () of a vehicle ().

Traction controller and method

The present disclosure relates to a vehicle imaging system (). More particularly, the present disclosure relates to a video data transmitter () for use with a vehicle (V). The video data transmitter () comprises a camera () for generating video data (D). An image processor () is configured to process the video data (D) and a transmitter () is provided to transmit the processed video data (D) to a video data receiver (). The image processor () is configured to process the video data (D) in dependence on one or more operating parameter of the vehicle (V). The present disclosure also relates to a video data receiver (); and to a method of controlling transmission of video data (D).

Vehicle imaging system and method

The present disclosure relates to a controller for generating a composite image (IMG) of a region behind a towing vehicle (V). The controller is operable to receive a towing vehicle image data (DV) from a towing vehicle camera (C); and a trailer image data (DV) from a trailer camera (C). The controller combines the towing vehicle image data (DV) and the trailer image data (DV) to generate a composite image data (DV) corresponding to a composite image (IMG). The controller is operable to output the composite image data (DV). The controller is operable selectively to enable and/or disable the output of the composite image data (DV). The controller is configured to monitor a status of a turn signal indicator. The controller is configured to disable the output of the composite image data (DV) when the turn signal indicator is activated; and/or enable the output of the composite image data (DV) when the turn signal indicator is de-activated.

Display method and apparatus

A motor vehicle control system (C,) for controlling an electric propulsion motor () to drive a wheel () of the vehicle (), the control system (C,) being configured to operate in one of a first mode and a second mode in dependence at least in part on an amount of slip experienced by at least one driven wheel (), in the first mode the control system (C,) being configured to cause the at least one electric propulsion motor () to generate a predetermined amount of drive torque, in the second mode the control system (C,) being configured to cause the at least one electric propulsion motor () to rotate at a predetermined speed, wherein the control system (C,) is configured to operate in the first mode if the amount of slip experienced by the at least one driven wheel () is below a predetermined slip amount and to operate in the second mode if the amount of slip experienced by the at least one driven wheel () exceeds the predetermined slip amount.

Control system for a motor vehicle and method

A system for discharging the electric charge stored in a traction battery of an electric vehicle or hybrid electric vehicle. The system comprising a traction battery having a plurality cells, a battery management system for balancing or regulating the electric charge stored in each of the battery cells. A sensor for detecting a vehicle event is provided on the vehicle. The battery management system, upon receiving a signal indicative that a vehicle event has occurred, initiates a discharge cycle of the electrical energy stored in one or more of the cells of the battery via an energy dissipation device such as a battery regulator or battery balancer.

Battery safety system

The present disclosure relates to a trailer tracking apparatus () for monitoring movement of a trailer () connected to a vehicle (). The trailer tracking apparatus () has a controller () comprising an electronic processor () having an electrical input for receiving image data (DAT) from an imaging sensor () disposed on the vehicle (). Trailer tracking apparatus and method

The present invention relates to a motor vehicle () having an electric drive system including an electric traction motor () and an energy storage device (). The vehicle () also has an adjustable-height suspension () to allow the height (h) of the vehicle () to be adjusted. A monitor () is provided for monitoring charging of the energy storage device () from an external electrical supply. A control unit () is provided for adjusting the height of the suspension () in dependence on the monitor (). Methods and apparatus for indicating charging status of a vehicle

A method, program and system to establish tire monitoring of an auxiliary vehicle () from a main vehicle () is described. The main vehicle () detects tire monitor identities of tire monitors () of the auxiliary vehicle () by the main vehicle. The main vehicle () determines whether the auxiliary vehicle tire monitor identities are associated with an identified auxiliary vehicle.
