An initiator for opening a pressurized gas cylinder is disclosed herein. The initiator includes a housing having a first end and a second end, a lance disposed within the housing, the lance configured to slide from the first end of the housing to the second end of the housing and out through the second end of the housing, a spring disposed within the housing between the first end of the housing and the lance, and a wire coupled to the first end of the housing and to the lance, the wire configured to hold the spring in a compressed state, the wire further configured to break in response to an electric current.

A system for improving an appearance of light from an excimer lamp includes the excimer lamp configured to output excimer light that includes ultraviolet light having an ultraviolet wavelength and visible light having a first visible wavelength or spectra. The system further includes at least one additional light source configured to be packaged with the excimer lamp and to output additional light having a second visible wavelength or spectra. The system further includes a cover that is at least one of transparent or translucent to the ultraviolet wavelength and having a surface pattern that causes the excimer light to blend with the additional light.

A system for powering an excimer bulb includes a first inductor configured to be coupled to a first terminal of the excimer bulb. The system further includes a first transistor coupled to the first inductor and having an on state configured to allow current to flow through the first inductor and an off state. The system further includes a second transistor configured to be coupled to the first terminal of the excimer bulb and having an on state configured to allow current to flow through the excimer bulb and an off state. The system further includes a controller coupled to the first transistor and the second transistor, and to control operation of the first transistor and the second transistor to power the excimer bulb.

An aircraft emergency lighting system is disclosed. This emergency lighting system may include interior emergency lighting, interior ambient light sensors, exterior emergency lighting, and exterior ambient light sensors. The interior emergency lighting, the exterior emergency lighting, or both, may be controlled based upon an input of the interior ambient light condition (e.g., using an output from at least one of the interior ambient light sensors) and based upon an input from at least one of the exterior ambient light sensors.

A trend LED and reference LED may be located in an interior of the reflector. The trend LED may be powered on with plurality of LEDs. End of life detection system for aircraft anti-collision light

The present disclosure is generally directed to an aircraft cabin LED lighting system and lighting assembly, in which each LED light is paired with and controlled by a separate microcontroller, which is individually addressable. In various embodiments, a lighting control device (e.g., a control panel for flight attendants) transmits pixel data to various lighting assemblies around the cabin. These lighting assemblies include the microcontroller-LED light pairs. Each LED light is multicolor and includes multiple LEDs (e.g., one for each color). The pixel data defines a color scheme and/or animation sequence. Each pixel maps to one of the microcontroller-LED pairs. The microcontroller controls the intensity of each LED of the LED light according to the pixel data it receives.
