Configuration items for a software application can be automatically and/or manually discovered, and the application can be packaged to form a virtual application package. A deployment configuration can include settings for the configuration items. The deployment configuration can be set after packaging the software application. For example, a selected configuration item in the deployment configuration may be changed in response to user input. The virtual application package can be deployed to instantiate the application one or more times, and the deployment configuration can be applied in the instantiated application.

Managing application interaction on a device using dynamic containers. A method includes, for a set of applications on a device, based on certain conditions, determining a plurality of container groups. Each container group defines a set of applications and a set of interactions parameters defining boundaries of interactions between the applications for the applications in the container group. The method further includes identifying one or more changes in the certain conditions. As a result of identifying one or more changes in the certain conditions, the method includes changing membership in the container groups.

Dynamic application containers

Determining a discrete application boundary. A method includes identifying one or more initial components of an application. The method further includes identifying statically and/or dynamically related components of the one or more initial components of the application. Identifying statically related components and identifying dynamically related components is performed iteratively. The method further includes identifying a discrete boundary for the application based on statically related components and dynamically related components.
