A communication system includes a passive quadrature generator connected directly to an in-phase (I) mixer and a quadrature (Q) mixer, an I LO amplitude detect circuit connected to the passive quadrature generator and connected to the I mixer, and a Q LO amplitude detect circuit connected to the passive quadrature generator and connected to the Q mixer, the I LO amplitude detect circuit configured to detect an I LO amplitude and the Q LO amplitude detect circuit configured to detect a Q LO amplitude, and a combining and integrating circuit configured to receive the detected I LO amplitude and the detected Q LO amplitude and generate an I LO DC bias voltage to bias the I mixer and a Q LO DC bias voltage to bias the Q mixer.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device may dynamically select subsets of antenna elements within an array based on power consumption and link performance and/or a configuration of components at the wireless device. For example, a wireless device may identify an antenna array having multiple antenna elements, and the wireless device may select respective subsets of antenna elements (e.g., subarrays) for uplink and downlink transmissions. In such cases, the selection may be based on a tradeoff of power consumption at the device and link performance. Additionally or alternatively, the selection may be based on a configuration and/or constraints on a number of radio frequency (RF) components of the wireless device. The wireless device may communicate based on the dynamic selection of different subsets of antenna elements of an array for uplink and downlink communications.

Techniques for antenna subset selection in upper millimeter wave bands

In certain aspects, a chip includes a pad, and a power amplifier having a first output and a second output. The chip also includes a transformer, wherein the transformer includes a first inductor coupled between a first terminal and a second terminal of the transformer, wherein the first terminal is coupled to the first output of the power amplifier, and the second terminal is coupled to the second output of the power amplifier. The transformer also includes a second inductor coupled between a third terminal and a fourth terminal of the transformer, wherein the third terminal is coupled to the pad. The chip also includes a first switch coupled to the fourth terminal, a shunt inductor coupled in parallel with the first switch, and a low-noise amplifier coupled to the third terminal.

Certain aspects are directed to an apparatus configured for wireless communication. The apparatus may include a memory comprising instructions, and one or more processors configured to execute the instructions. In some examples, the one or more processors are configured to cause the apparatus to obtain a sample of an analog signal. In some examples, the one or more processors are configured to cause the apparatus to output the sample to an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) via one of at least a first path or a second path based at least in part on whether the sample satisfies a first threshold condition or a second threshold condition.

Dynamic range adjustment for analog-to-digital converter (ADC)

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for self-interference or cross-link interference measurements at a user equipment (UE). A UE may receive configuration information from a base station that indicates one or more slot format index (SFI) values that are compatible for cross-link interference or self-interference measurements. Based on the configured SFI(s), the UE may measure interference in multiple symbols, which may be used to estimate an amount of cross-link interference or self-interference, and the UE may transmit a measurement report to the base station. The base station, based on the measurement report, may identify one or more compatible SFIs, beam pairs, or combinations thereof, for subsequent communications with one or more UEs. The interference measurements may identify cross-link interference at the UE that results from transmissions of a different UE, or may identify self-interference of concurrent communications of multiple channels at a same UE.

Methods for self-interference and cross-link interference measurements in millimeter wave bands

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide an amplification system. The amplification system generally includes: a first amplifier having an output coupled to an output of the amplification system; a second amplifier, inputs of the first amplifier and the second amplifier being coupled to an input of the amplification system; an impedance coupled to an output of the second amplifier; and a biasing circuit having a first voltage sense input coupled to the output of the first amplifier, a second voltage sense input coupled to the output of the second amplifier, and an output coupled to a bias input of the first amplifier.

Load-adaptive power amplifier

A transceiver is configured for a calibration mode of operation in which an impedance of a transmit chain is tuned responsive to a power measurement of a mixed RF calibration signal to form a tuned transmit chain. A direct conversion mixes an RF calibration signal with a DC offset signal to form the mixed calibration signal. During a normal mode of operation, a heterodyne mixer mixes an LO signal with an IF signal to produce an RF signal that is amplified through the tuned transmit chain.

Aspects of the disclosure relate to an apparatus (e.g., a user equipment (UE)) configured to operate in a full-duplex mode. The apparatus may include at least one transmit chain configured to operate within a first frequency band and at least one receive chain configured to operate within a second frequency band. The apparatus may receive coordination information that is configured to mitigate the self-interference between the at least one transmit chain of the apparatus and the at least one receive chain of the apparatus. In some examples, the received coordination information includes at least one of subcarrier spacing coordination information, beam coordination information, or slot format index coordination information. In some examples, the apparatus may transmit a first signal while receiving a second signal based on at least the subcarrier spacing coordination information, the beam coordination information, or the slot format index coordination information to mitigate self-interference.

An apparatus is disclosed for an antenna with a conductive cage. In an example aspect, the apparatus includes a ground plane with at least one opening. The apparatus also includes at least one antenna assembly with at least one radiating element, at least one feed via, and a conductive cage. The radiating element is implemented on a first plane that is substantially parallel to the ground plane. The feed via is connected to the at least one radiating element and is configured to connect to at least one transmission line through the opening. The conductive cage includes at least three ground vias, which are connected to the ground plane at positions that are distributed around the opening. Lengths of the at least three ground vias extend a portion of a distance between the ground plane and the radiating element.

An antenna system includes: a ground conductor; a substrate; a pair of planar dipole conductors disposed such that at least a portion of the substrate is disposed between the ground conductor and the pair of dipole conductors; a pair of energy couplers each electrically connected to a respective one of the pair of dipole conductors; and a pair of isolated lobes including electrically-conductive material. The pair of isolated lobes are electrically separate from the pair of dipole conductors and the pair of energy couplers, and disposed between the pair of dipole conductors and the ground conductor.
