An adjustable measuring device for measuring contents, such as liquids and granulated solids, having a usable volume for measuring. The adjustable measuring device includes a housing, a platform having a lower position and an upper position, and an adjusting system for moving the platform between the lower position and the upper position. When the platform is in the lower position, the usable volume is maximized. When the platform is in the upper position, the usable volume is minimized. The adjusting system comprises a restraint system adapted to maintain the platform between the lower position and the upper position. Also, the adjusting system comprises a discrete locking system adapted to temporarily lock the platform into a plurality of predetermined positions, which represent discrete usable volumes. By applying a first adjusting force, the platform moves toward the upper position. By applying a second adjusting force, the platform moves toward the lower position.

Adjustable measuring device

An adjustable spotlight fitting for use with an illuminated fiber optic bundle. A spherically contoured pivot element is received within a pivot housing and retained therein by an adjustable locking ring which clamps the pivot element in any angularly adjusted position. A focusing member is mounted by the pivot element for limited axial adjusting movement in relation thereto. A fiber optic bundle is inserted through the back of the pivot element and the exposed optical fibers at its terminal end are positioned within the focusing member. A lens, carried at the outer end of the focusing member, is movable by the focusing member toward and away from the fiber optic bundle for converging and expanding the area of illumination. Optical filters can be selectively installed behind the lens for various lighting effects.

Adjustable spotlight fitting for fiber optic lighting

A multi-purpose plug-in lamp socket for selectively mounting and electrically connecting lamps of different types, such as PAR36 and AR111 lamps. These lamps, which are extensively used in low voltage commercial and theatrical lighting, are similar in size but have entirely different configurations of contact elements. Typically, they are mounted by seating peripheral flanges of the lamps and separately electrically connecting the contact elements using slide-on contacts and/or spade lugs or the like secured by screws. The disclosure relates to a simple, unitary lamp socket which accommodates plug-in reception and removal of either of the above mentioned styles of lamp, simultaneously mounting and electrically connecting the lamps for use. Strip-like contact elements, mounted at the back of the lamp bodies, are gripped by contact clips mounted in a socket body. The clips are formed with upper and lower pairs of protuberant retention elements which engage and position the contact strips such that, upon insertion of either type of lamp, the lamp is simultaneously physically held in position and electrically connected, notwithstanding major differences in the contact configuration of the different lamps.
