In various embodiments, the present invention provides a method of treating a subterranean formation. The method includes placing in the subterranean formation a demulsifier composition. The demulsifier composition includes an alkanolamide surfactant that is a (C-C)hydrocarbyl amide having groups Rand Rsubstituted on the amide nitrogen, wherein Rand Rare each independently selected from the group consisting of &#x2014;H, &#x2014;(C-C)hydrocarbyl, and &#x2014;(C-C)hydrocarbylene-OH, wherein at least one of Rand Ris &#x2014;(C-C)hydrocarbylene-OH. The demulsifier composition includes an alkoxylated alcohol surfactant that is a (C-C)hydrocarbyl-OH having a &#x2014;((C-C)alkylene-O)&#x2014;H group on the &#x2014;OH group, wherein n is about 1 to about 100. The demulsifier composition also includes an amine-oxide surfactant. At each occurrence the (C-C)hydrocarbyl and (C-C)hydrocarbylene are substituted or unsubstituted and are independently selected.

Demulsifier compositions for treatment of subterranean formations and produced oil

Provided are methods and systems for treating a subterranean formation. One such method includes preparing an emulsion comprising: an aqueous liquid; a multifunction hydrolysable oil; a co-solvent; and a surfactant. The method further includes combining the emulsion with a carrier fluid to provide a treatment fluid. The method additionally includes introducing the treatment fluid to the subterranean formation. The method also includes contacting hydrocarbons within the subterranean formation with the treatment fluid, and hydrolyzing the multifunction hydrolysable oil to provide an organic acid and an alcohol within the subterranean formation.

The demulsifier composition also includes an amine-oxide surfactant. At each occurrence the (C-C)hydrocarbyl and (C-C)hydrocarbylene are substituted or unsubstituted and are independently selected.

The embodiments herein relate generally to subterranean formation operations and, more particularly, to surfactant flowback aids for use in subterranean formation operations. The surfactant flowback aid composition may comprise an aqueous phase comprising an aqueous base fluid, a surfactant blend, and a demulsifier. The surfactant blend may comprise a C8-C18 alcohol ethoxy-late; a fatty acid alkanolamide; and optionally, a surfactant selected from the group consisting of a non-ionic surfactant, an anionic surfactant, a cationic surfactant, an amphoteric surfactant, and any combination thereof. The demulsifier may be selected from the group consisting of a desalter agent to separate water from crude oil, a treater agent to flocculate submicron particulates from crude oil, and any combination thereof.

Surfactant flowback aids for use in subterranean formation operations

Surfactant compositions for treatment of subterranean formations and produced oil are disclosed. Methods of treating a subterranean formation include placing in the subterranean formation a surfactant composition. The surfactant composition includes an alkanolamide surfactant and an alkoxylated alcohol surfactant. The surfactant composition also includes an ionic surfactant, a nonionic surfactant, or a combination thereof, at least one compound according to Formula II:

Degradable particulates may allow for temporary redirection or occlusion of a fluid within a subterranean formation. However, many types of degradable particulates can be problematic for large-scale use, such as during subterranean treatment operations. Methods for treating a subterranean formation using degradable particulates may comprise: providing pre-coated particulates comprising a latently dissolvable core and a transient coating surrounding the latently dissolvable core, the latently dissolvable core and the transient coating comprising different materials; and introducing a treatment fluid comprising a carrier fluid and a plurality of the pre-coated particulates into a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation in conjunction with a stimulation operation, a material comprising the latently dissolvable core being soluble in the carrier fluid or a formation fluid present within the subterranean formation.

In some examples a method of well treatment may comprise: providing a treatment fluid comprising a microemulsified resin additive, wherein the microemulsified resin additive comprises a continuous phase and a discontinuous phase, wherein the continuous phase comprises an aqueous liquid, wherein the discontinuous phase is in form of micelles of about 200 nm or less in diameter and comprises a resin; introducing the treatment fluid into a subterranean formation penetrated by a wellbore; and allowing the treatment fluid to set in the subterranean formation.
