A system and method for determining a position or a movable device is disclosed. The present system utilizes a movable device equipped with a locator device that has an antenna array such that it may determine the angle of arrival of a plurality of incoming beacon signals. In certain embodiments, the movable device is also able to measure its distance travelled. By knowing its distance moved and the angle of arrival from each beacon, the locator device is able to calculate its position as well as the position of each beacon. This procedure may be executed at regular intervals so that the movable device accurately determines its position.

Systems and methods are provided that may be implemented to modify information of an audio data transmission based on one or more measured signal reception and/or transmission characteristics of a radio frequency (RF) signal data transmission that contains or otherwise conveys the audio data transmission. The modified audio data may then be acoustically reproduced in analog form as sound waves. Examples of signal reception characteristics of a RF signal data transmission that may be measured and used as a basis for modifying information of audio data of an audio data transmission include, but are not limited to, time Difference of Arrival (TDOA), Angle of Arrival (AoA), measured received signal strength, etc. Example signal transmission characteristics of a RF signal that may be measured and used as a basis for modifying information of audio data include, but are not limited to, Angle of Departure (AoD).

Systems and methods for modifying information of audio data based on one or more radio frequency (RF) signal reception and/or transmission characteristics

Systems and methods are provided to simultaneously determine both angle of arrival (AoA) and angle of departure (AoD) of a signal transmitted between two or more radio frequency (RF)-enabled wireless devices (e.g., such as BLE modules). The disclosed systems and methods may be so implemented in one embodiment to determine AoD even in the case where the transmitting wireless device is at the same time operating in a departure (or AoD) transmitting mode by transmitting a RF signal from multiple antenna elements of at least one switched antenna array using a given switching pattern or sequence implemented by an array switch.

Systems and methods for multiantenna orientation and direction detection

Systems and methods are provided that may be implemented to use resource filtering to provide multiple different device personalities and/or multiple different resources from a radio frequency (RF)-enabled wireless device or apparatus to one or more other connecting RF-enabled wireless devices across one or more wireless connections. In one example, each different given resource of a wireless device may be associated with at least one filter which may be used by the device to determine which connection/s the given resource may be provided, and a given resource may only be provided to a given connecting device only if the given resource passes the filter.

Resource filtering for wireless devices

A device, method and software program that allows a network device to remain synchronized to a master device while minimizing its own power consumption is disclosed. The network device exits a low power mode at regular intervals in order to receive a synchronous communication from a master device. Once the network device has received enough information to confirm that this synchronous communication is from the correct master device, the network device may then return to the low power mode, even before the entirety of the synchronous communication has been received. This may reduce the time that the network device is in the active state by more than 90% in certain instances.

Systems and methods are provided that may be implemented to configure and/or reconfigure device operating modes based on relative position of a wireless transmitter to a wireless receiver that is receiving a wireless radio frequency (RF) signal transmitted from the wireless transmitting device, or vice-versa. Systems and methods for selecting operating mode based on relative position of wireless devices

Systems and methods are provided that may be implemented to create a wireless communication path by opening relatively low power wireless non-broadcast node-to-node connections between network nodes between selected wireless nodes of a mesh network, or by implementing inter-node broadcast routing paths within such a network by selectively broadcasting from selected network nodes, based on one or more inter-node signal transmission characteristics measured between different pairs of nodes of the mesh network. When used, the opened connections may employ non-continuous connection listening intervals that are shorter than observer listening times to communicate over designated data channels in a targeted manner between selected routing nodes in a mesh network.

Systems and methods for configuring and providing mesh communication between wireless devices

Systems and methods that may be implemented to configure a single common radio frequency (RF) radio module with multiple link layers to allow the radio module to transmit different advertisement packets at the same time using different advertisement configuration parameters. A radio module may be simultaneously configured with the multiple link layers to allow the radio module to operate using unique different advertisement parameters corresponding to each of multiple different advertisement policies, and such that the radio module may selectively transmit advertisement packets in real time using any one of the different advertisement policies.

Systems and methods are provided that may be implemented to adaptively control advertising and/or scanning operations on multiple advertising channels in a wireless network environment. In one example, a wireless device may monitor for wireless activity from other protocols (e.g., such as Wi-Fi or Zigbee) on the frequency of one or more of the multiple advertising channels of a first wireless network protocol, such as a BLE wireless network protocol. The wireless device may respond in real time to the detected presence of wireless activity from other protocols on one or more of the advertising channels of the first protocol by dynamically varying the identity of which advertising channels are employed at any given time for advertising and/or scanning.

The invention relates to a method for a communication system comprising a first device and a second device. The method comprises transferring a packet from a first device to a second device, which packet comprises an authentication request having a challenge; encrypting the challenge from the authentication request by the second device; including the determined challenge as a challenge-response to a response packet by the second device; sending the response packet from the second device to the first device; determining whether the challenge matches with the challenge-response, and if so, authenticating the second device.

Method and technical equipment for short range data transmission

Systems and methods are provided that allow a BLE scanning device or other receiving device to use packet transmission timing parameter discovery to synchronize its listening times to the actual packet transmission times from a transmitting device such as a BLE advertising device. Once discovered, the packet transmission timing parameter/s may be used by the receiving device to calculate the same pseudorandom delay time component (such as BLE advDelay) that is being used by the transmitting device to determine intervals between the transmitted packets. This allows the receiving device to calculate the exact time that the transmitting device is transmitting each packet, so that the receiving device may synchronize its listening times to coincide with the packet transmitting intervals used by the transmitting device.
