An apparatus for providing an augmented broadcasting service and an apparatus for receiving the augmented broadcasting service in a hybrid broadcasting environment. The apparatus for providing the augmented broadcasting service includes: a real-time data provider configured to provide real-time data through a first transmission network; an augmented content provider configured to provide augmented content through a second transmission network, wherein the augmented content is to be synchronized with the real-time data; and a multiplexer configured to multiplex the real-time data, the augmented content metadata and timing information for synchronization between the real-time data and the augmented content metadata, and output resulting data.

An apparatus and method for processing augmented broadcast content. The apparatus includes: a broadcast content receiving unit configured to receive broadcast content and a first reference signal from a broadcast content provider, the first reference signal including information used to recognize a target object in the broadcast content and composite the broadcast content and augmented content associated with the target object; an object identifying unit configured to identify the target object in the broadcast content by analyzing the broadcast content using an image or sound analysis algorithm with reference to the first reference signal; an augmented content acquiring unit configured to acquire the augmented content associated with the target object; and an augmented content compositing unit configured to composite the acquired augmented content into an augmentation region determined based on the first reference signal.

In the present invention, an expert system is coupled to the fault management function of a switching system for diagnosing various faults which occur in an electronic switching system and an interface module is coupled to the expert system, so that a user can diagnose a fault of the switching system and monitor a result of the fault. The expert system of the present invention has a knowledge base including information relating to faults of the switching system and when a fault occurs in the switching system, the expert system outputs information of the fault occurrence to a multimedia screen so that a user can recognize a fault immediately and diagnose the fault of the switching system.
